hey all. quick question. i started to marinate some nice backstraps early sunday morning. i usually just marinate it for about 1 hour and then fry it up. i took the meat, mixed 50/50of A1 sauce and BBQ sauce , and put it in a zip lock baggy. well, due to some things that i needed to dofor my parents, i didnt have time to cook it when i thought i would. so now its still in my frig marinating. i have never marinated meat this long, so im not sure if its cool to still eat it tonight. my first assumption would be its still good, but i want to make sure. i would hate to waste this nice strap, but i dont want to make myself sick. thanks aot

EAT IT!!!
As long as it's been in the fridge, it should be fine. It may be a little strong, but maybe not. Let us know how it turned out. I never would have thought of using that mixture for marinade.
Personally, I like my backstraps with a little garlic powder and season salt. Fry em up in a little butter....mmmMM!

Its deffinelty still good to eat. I usualy marinate mine in Italian dressing for sometimes a whole day. Either use a tenderizer or a fork to poke a bunch of holes in it first and let soak. Ive had it fried but I prefer it bacon wrapped and on the grill.

Here ya go...Best meat i've ever put in my mouth!!!
Buy a packet of Mccormick's grill mate's south west flavor....
marinade them for 17mins...
get a grill nice and (warm) not hot.
put them on the grill for a few minutes...flip them....wait a few minutes...then take them up.....don't over cook, but don't leave too much blood either...don't wanna get a bug....
BEST meat i've ever eaten....i used to have to take the plate away from my ex gf b/c if i didn't she would eat them until she got sick.

If it's been in the fridge it should be okay. Cook it and eat it. I usually marinatemy backstrapfor 24 hours, to get the best taste of the marination. Sometimes I just do it in an hour but doesn't taste as good when I do it for 24 hour. I've been eating vension meat this whole week, backstrap, meat loaf, sausage, and I'm having venison BBQ steak tommorrow, mmmm good.

2-24 Hours in a refrigerator. Read this. It is more tender and better flavored.
