Default Is my deer meat spoiled??? (rookie question)

I shot it last evening, found it 16 hrs later.
Weather has been between 30-34 degrees.
Pretty good shot with my bow, enter behind shoulder, exited the 4th rib from the rear of the deer.

It was bloated when I found it, ....and it smells!!!

I just rinsed it out to see if there was just some bad stuff in there.

Did it sit too long? Am I able to keep anything? Or not risk it, and throw it away?

You should be good. The temps were low enough.

Curious as to what took 16 hours to find your deer??? I constantly hear advice about waiting hours and hours to retrieve a deer, even on good shots. Wait on something hit back, but a shot through the ribs even quartering like you had, that deer is dead.

As long as the temp stays lower that 38 we let deer hang for about 3 weeks before processing so ur good lol
