Does have to present me a shot....no seriously, I'll pick out a big one mostly, But under certain situations I've shot plump early born fawns.

Bucks 3.5+ and 120+ (more like 130's + but just in case I misjudge a little)

first legal buck that gives me a good shot (4 1" points to 1 side) and im loosing an arrow...but if its a scrubyyyy dinky half rack, i might let him walk. last year someone in the group killed one in rifle that had 4 to one side...but it was the ONLY side and if it had both i might have let it walk because it was a dink. id like a 2.5yo or better. but if a nice 1.5yo 8pt steps out he may be in trouble. but i doubt it...i have trouble counting points when they are small and close together! lol. my buddy killed a 10pt one year..4x6 all 1"+ but the spread was like 6 or 7 inches or something..i know it didnt break 12" i would NEVER been able to verify that thing as legal.

does...in spots i take does, anything that aint speckled (gotta pop the cherry somehow!) and hopefully doesnt have nubs on its head..i try to look but never know...

my neck of the woods DOES hold decint bucks. theres atleast 1 buck thats 3.5+ using my spot. and a bunch of 2.5yos...but, i cant sit around and wait forever...too much competition, will be my first bow buck and i got a busy schedule that might not allow for a whole lot of hunt time. hopefully the first one to gimme a shot IS the biggun

I agree with this rybo guy a lot. My circumstances dictate that I hunt this way, for now. Hopefully, one day, they'll be different.

Bucks.....

Well ya know....I have a standard I want to meet. BUT...I reserve the right to changee them on the spot....for whatever reason I deem apprpriate. Id like to hold out for at least a 3.5 yr old deer.....but I WILL shoot a 2.5 yr old that meets the criteria of...."I want totake him".

For bucks the first one I see that I like(big or small)goes down.On the 2nd tag I get picky and most of the time end up with a tag in my pocket.

I'll take any doe that gives me a shot.

If a buck has antlers wider than his ears, I'm gonna pop him. I don't care about age/score/weight or anything.

Last year I got a 4 pointer that was 17" wide. Yeah I know he could have been....but it wasn't. He was dinner! And according to the trail cams, my sightings, sightings of others, he was almost the only buck in that area that didn't have milk around his mouth.

He weighed around 160 live weight and according to my taxi, he was right at 3 1/2 years old.

You have to hunt for your area. If you know your area isn't going to produce a 150" buck, don't look for one.

Does, like most have said, adult 1.5 or older, no snub nosers.
Bucks, if it's better than my best bow kill to date, then I'm flingin' an axis. Last year was a 15" 8 point that went 155#'s, which I call respectable. Rifle season I have my sights a little bigger since I have a few decent 10's under my belt. My oldest was an 18.5" that the taxi' figured was 6.5 years old. he was in rough shape from lost of fighting with a few broken tines.

I agree with farm country. I am not looking to shoot small/young deer. I have the luxury of hunting about 400 acrs in Deleware county NY(family friends all one big piece). Even though it sounds like a lot it is a postage stamp as soon as I let one of those 1 1/2 yr old fork hornsout of my sights he walks out into a mind field of weekend warriors that must shoot at anything on four legs.I try to manage and do my part but the deer are free range and once they roam into uncharted territory they will be murdered.

Does I perfer to take a mature doe
