RE: standerds for shooter buck and doe
I'll take any doe that gives me a shot.
If a buck has antlers wider than his ears, I'm gonna pop him. I don't care about age/score/weight or anything.
Last year I got a 4 pointer that was 17" wide. Yeah I know he could have been....but it wasn't. He was dinner! And according to the trail cams, my sightings, sightings of others, he was almost the only buck in that area that didn't have milk around his mouth.
He weighed around 160 live weight and according to my taxi, he was right at 3 1/2 years old.
You have to hunt for your area. If you know your area isn't going to produce a 150" buck, don't look for one.
