tsoc, great post. That is exactly the way I was brought up and the way it is in my current area. Yes, landowners have rights and no trespassing laws should be respected. But so should common decency and respect for your fellow human being. It doesn't mean letting lazy slob hunters trespass on your land but it does mean not getting freaked out when a hunter shoots a deer he didn't anticipate would go 20 yards onto your land and decides he is going to grab the deer without damaging any part of your property and be off of it in minutes.

Ok

Just because a land owner does not agree with hunting does not give anyone the right to tresspass.

Sorry just not right, and is an excuse in my book. I do not agree with a lot of things in the world, but I have not right to dismissed them. If someone buys large plots of land and wants no hunting or tresspasing that is their right.

Private Property is one things thatmakes this country great. Sorry but dismissing the law based on someones beliefs is just not right in my book. Puts us on a real slippery slope.

That being said having a large tract of no hunting land next to me would be great. What a sanctury

I had permission to hunt a little over 600 acres a few years ago. TheOne familythat bordered this property had about 25 or 30 acres and hated the land owner. Basically these people didn't like us hunting any where near their proplerty lineeven thoughwe kept completely on our side of the line.

Another person that was hunting this land shot a deer and it ran over the property line on to their land. It was right before dark and we went and asked for permission to look for the deer and they told us they would look for it and call us. Well they looked for it alright.... they got on their ATV's, found the deer and kept the deer too. We went back to the spot where it crossed the line to listen and watch and heard them when they found the deer. We asked them about it and they claimed they never found the dead deer.

Who are we kidding here? Y'all can sit around and b.s. everyone allya like - all I know is when the rubber meets the road - 95% of us are crossing the fence, grabbing our deer, and going home.

Seriously, I'm stupid, but I'm not that stupid.
I guess thatpost shows what you are really all about. Speak for your self and don't include me in your 95%. I am a sportsman and take pride in doing the right thing 100% of the time. Being a good sportsman isn't something you do only when you feel like it. Either you are one.... or you aren't.

You'll have to excuse Jim, LC, he pretty much hates life itself, so it logically follows that he hates city people. I'm pretty sure he hates all people. He may even hate his own mother.
I find it strange that you see Jim in that way. I have always enjoyed his posts, the humor that he shows and the relevance in his responses. Your last statement is uncalled for and I suggest you try thinking for a change before you hit the send key.

Thanks Frank.

It really does show the true heart of some of us so called hunters.
Ethics is easy when you are surrounded by people. Its when you are alone that they become tricky.
Honesty is the same . Does it surprise you when you read about guys hunting out of others stands? It shouldn't.
Morals .You know that part of you that tells you to do whats right.
Lacking huh!!!!!!!!

Fran lacks almost every quality that a true sportsman should have.
Honesty ,ethics & morals are not part of his life.
The black top world of the city deserves the likes of him.

My land is posted almost exclusivelyto keep his kind at bay.

A lot of this is subjective as well and will depend on where you live. Not that trespassing is ever a good thing, but in some places the reaction will be different than in others.

For example, QuickSilver is from Pittsburgh. I grew up in Pittsburgh and spent the early portion of my hunting career hunting land out there. Property lines were grey areas and most people didn't mind if you strayed a little onto their property in most cases. People are friendly and hunting is in most cases welcomed. Now I live outside of Philly and even though it is the same state it is a completely different mentality out here. There is heavy competition for land and you had better abide by each and every land owner's specific rules or you will find yourself being hauled away in handcuffs. I have always respected landowners and their rights, but to be honest I have more respect for the western PA landowners than I do the people here. I follow their rules more because I am a good sportsman than out of respect for them. They view hunters as nothing more than deer exterminators and treat you as they would the Orkin man (sometimes worse).

So, it is easy to cast opinions when relating to where you live, but it's not the same everywhere. Bottom line, trespassing is trespassing.

I'd go and retireve my deer and get out as fast as possible. If someone raises a stink about it, I'd just explain the situatation, apologize and take the punishment.

Hey Bawana, doesn't it just eat at you that I could be commuting from this concrete jungle andhunting the place right next door to you, and *gasp* shoot a deer that runs 3 feet over your property line and keels over, and I would have the audacity and ignoranceto *gasp* reach over there and retrieve it.[:-]

Oh the humanity!

---this "criminal" act is obviously theless ethicalalternative to Jim, Frank and Germ's proposed method - leaving the whole carcass to rot.

These city folk are just plain awful. No regard for anyone else! I really don't know how I can sleep at night. It's obviously people like me who aretearing away at the very moral fabric of this fine nation. Terrible, really.

Here - have a wipe.
