No problems, here, Buckeye. If I lived in Ohio .... "I" might not want to even the playing field out anymore, either.

"Agenda"? I'll bow out of the contest if it'll make you feel better (about my 'perceived' "agenda"). It's STILL a valid idea.

One rule change already implemented for next year is the posting of the string of measurements that add up to the total inches score. I'm sure this isn't the ONLY change that's occurred over the years, either. So.....it's likely evolved through the years.

My suggestion was not a complaint. It was being discussed EXTREMELY diplomatically until about the time you entered the mix. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.

I like the idea on all counts. Deer hunting ethics, management responsibilities we sometimes ignore or pass up while waiting for that monster buck day after day, and giving everyone an opportunity to contribute. Its suppossed to be for fun, this just adds to the fun and comradery IMO. GMMAT for President!!!

Even the playing field???? Come on.... It would even nothing as a good buck and a doe would still score more than a small buck and a doe.... Addition in it's simplest form...

I don't want you to bow out of anything, I just thought it was funny seeing countless posts of yours about how you probably won't shoot a buck this year and plan to take as many does as you can and now you want to alter the contest to fit your "agenda".

Posting of the measurements is to ensure accuracy........ It won't change the way the "game" is played.

I'm not trying to fix what ain't broke......but it would "seem" (to me) that this wouldn't hurt a thing.....and it would serve a dual purpose.

1 - It would help possibly educate some people new to the sport about the importance of actually TAKING does.

2 - It would let those that didn't take a buck, that year, STILL be a helping influence on the overall team score.

Now, admittedly....I haven't thought this through a LOT.....NOR do I have any influence on the contest. It's just "Mind Drivel".

Now I'm also aware that there may be guys who ONLY get one tag, PERIOD. If that's trulythe case.....maybe it's a bad idea from the get-go.

Just thinking......
This is from my original post. if that's being a "pain in the ass"....I can't see it.

If anyone thinks I'm trying to gain an advantage....I'll bow out. I'll likely HURT my team, this year, anyway. I don't have a problem sitting this one out, at all. I AM wondering how it gives me an advantage, though......if does ALL might count the same.

No biggie, to me....not in the least.

Again, I am not implying in the slightest you should not be in the contest, what's with all the "bow out" comments?

I also didn't say it gave you or anyone else anadvantage..... I said it would fit your "Agenda".

I'm going to work for a few hours and then hitting the lake this evening. Have a wonderful day.

There's a contingency among deer hunters who hunt for big bucks, almost (if not) exclusively. I think it's commendable that these guys have narrowed their focuses on what "turns their cranks" in this endeavor we call bowhunting.

I also think there are those among us who target does AND bucks......and "I" think we're evolving as a group to recognize the importance of taking does with bucks.

Ithink both mindsetshave their place. Irespect ALL of you guys' "outlooks". This wasn't started (this thread) to divide.

I'm one man.....and I have my opinion. Others have also voiced theirs. I'm not calling for a change in the contest rules based on MY opinion. I'm asking for YOURS.

Buckeye...

I have no "Agenda" with this thread....other than spicing things up to "possibly" make it MORE fun for EVERYONE involved.

I'm kinda sorry I asked the question, now.
Have a great day at the lake.

Here's the part I don't get.....And I'm not taking anyone's side here or anything, BUT......

HNI allows this contest to run every year. Rob is gracious enough to oversee it every year. Other than bragging rights, there is no winning purse at the end of the season. It's all for fun and to get to know each other a little better.

NOW there is complaining and bickering about it.....There's appreciation for ya.

Buckeye is correct on even playing field. The team with the most bucks still won at AT.

Buckeye what it does is include some folks that mayhave felt left out. Help people contribute to their team.

We may all talk that it does not matter, but at the end of the contest no one wants to have a blank by their name[] It justmakes the contest more inclusive IMO.

I took part in AT and had a blast, guys were cheeringfor doesjust as much as bucks.

I posted this awhile ago, my team killed the most does, we came in third.
