Well Matt. Let me tell you something......well, uh. Nevermind. Your post, if honest, leaves very little to argue about. (Ha! Ha!) I have been a WB fan from day one, for the simplicity of it. Very little can go wrong.

I was always told I would have accuracy and arrow speed problems. Bottom line, it works and I dont care why.

Thanks for the info.

A lot of what we do is for "mental" reasons. Only group worst than archers are golfers

You bring up some good points, thx
I think this statement sums up the real response to why a dropaway. The theory sounds good at face value until you start to get into the technical side of it. It is awfully easy to blame bad shots on a rest, etc. They are arrows, they only go where you point them.......[8D].

I knew someone was gonna quote me before I edited that one........lol.
I shot 5 spot with my old hoyt last night. It has Goldkey TM Hunter Rest, I shot my best score, LOL

The Issue I have is I have NEVER fond a product to silence the damn prongs to my liking. When I get home I am attaching the cable to my cable guard. Thanks to you I am all mental now

Fletching clearanceis overrated.Dave Cousins can take a spring steel rest and turn the arrow with the cock vane facing directly down to make direct contact with the rest and still put it in the 9 ring on a fita face at 90 meters when the bow was sighted in for cock vane up position.
Not with a broadhead on the arrow he doesn't...

Man.........I would DEFINITELY say to go out and get whatever drop away was used here because this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that rests like the WB are just not as good or as accurate as a drop away can be.

Oh,

Nevermind.

Well if these drop away style rests elimintate contact with the the fletchings, would it increase speed at all?

In some cases, but not enough to make a difference. I don't think I have ever picked up any speed switching rests. At most maybe a few FPS in some cases. Nothing that will effect anything though.

Certainly not a reason in it's self to switch to one.

Hah......

Get yourself a limb driver if you must have a dropaway. WWAG was way ahead of the times with his plainsman. The limb driver is basically operating on the same concept and is activated on the same concept. I still think it has too many moving parts for me personally because I like the KISS principle, however being activated by the movement of the limbs rather than the cables/cams I feel is a much better option.
