Default RE: Taxidermy question(s)....

The only reason I would shoot a buck is for the trophy aspect of it. Besides, they look good on the wall. If i want the meat I will shoot a doe. In my earlier days of hunting I would shoot small bucks however, the only deer I will shoot from here on out will be mature bucks and does. I will never be one to condone anyone for what they shoot as long as the animal is legal and free ranging. However, I made a committment to myself a few years ago that I would no longer shoot immature bucks. I will also add that I live in IL so I have alot better chanceof seeing mature deer than you folks that live in the high pressure areas. Trust me I understand the challenge of hunting in the pressured areas I used to live and hunt in WV. I guess what I'm saying is I realize that any buck can be a trophy in some areas. Just not to me and where I am fortunate enough to hunt.
