I am in the process of putting a full body fox mount with a huge hornets nest that I found on our property. I am wondering what do I need to do to the nest to preserve it? I believe I have seen people spray them with some kind of lacquer or something. I don't know, but if anyone can help, thanks.

I'd coat it with something, either like a polyurethane or maybe a silicone? You could try the same stuff that you'd coat your boots or tent with, you might check it for color fastness before you try it on your final nest. Sounds like it will be an impressive mount, post a pic when you finish, I'd like to see it.
