Bow : First Blood - gets the deer

Gun : Last blood - gets the deer.

Thats the way it was taught to me 25 years ago. I'd say it works 90% of the time.

This subject was already posted about a month ago and everyone that replyed agreed that the shooter that made the killing shot gets the deer.
I don't think anyone's opinion changed since then inculding my own.

It's usually not very difficult to tell if a shot would have killed a deer or not, a gutshot deer will die 99% of the time! If somebody gutshot a deer, bow or gun, and trailed it to where I put it down!! It'stheirdeer!!!
IMHO that is the mostsportsman/woodsman/ethical way. I would never hunt with anybody that thought any different!! I think anybody that shoots a dead deer walking and keeps it is in the wrong!!!

Second shooter gets the deer . If the 1st shootermade a gutshot , he shouldn't get anything !

and who gets the deer?
DUH! The winner of the duel would get the deer.
(...but I don't think you can use the other guy's tag.)

Just kidding, of course. That's one of the hardest hunting situations I can imagine; trying to figure out who did what and who gets what. Makes me want to hunt far away from everybody else. Come to think of it, that's where I want to hunt anyway.

This same question came up in anotherthread recently.

Edit: I just realized you started the other thread too. Sorry.
I'll leave it up there anyway since there were some good responses that some guys may not have seen.
