New bowhunters......take a minute....

As everyone else mentioned, this happens even to veteran hunters. Not only does it happen to bow hunters, I have heard of it happening to rifle hutners as well. The biggest thing is that you have brought it to other people's attention so that it doesn't happen to them. As Greg said, aiming for the exit hole is the key when you are in a stand....from what I hear. This is my first year deer hunting with a bow, so I hope that it doesn't happen to me...by your good advise.
Thank you for the post.

Thanks Jeff,
I realize that if I hunt long enough it will happen to me too (and most of us). It may be on our first shot, our next shot or our last shot with a bow at a deer but it will happen to most of us eventually

Gobbler, no need to ever apologize for making a mistake in the woods. Their are NO hunters in this world who are perfect, they only have perfect intentions.

Iknow what you mean about shooting at 3d targets. They are misleading. I was shooting a 3d course with my dad last weekend and he beat me on points because he aimed for the heart every time.
HOWEVER, I hit every target in the center of the lungs. He completely missed the vitals on2 deer by trying to crowd the heart. He was boasting that he outscored me, but in reality, I think I shot better because I would have killed every deer I shot at while he would have wounded 2.
Anyway, my point is to aim for the center of the lungs. It givesthe greatest margin of error.
