I'm another early bird. Most of my hunts, especially after the time change, are early morning. I'm always sitting in my stand no less than 30 minutes before the sky starts to lighten.

Depends on the area your walking into. Some places its totaly pointless to have an arrow nocked until you get up in the tree. I've shot deer from the ground before with a bow. Its not a easy thing to do (at least in the area I'm from), especially if your stalking or still hunting. I never nock an arrow on the walk in these days.

I'm rarely ever walking to or from my stand during daylight hours. I like to be in at least a half hour before sunrise and I like to have to use a flashlight to walk out.

Well last yearI only got one firearm permit and on opening day I was walking to my stand and it was still dark out and there was one standing undermy stand soI waited for the sun to rise and shot it.So,I was done hunting30 minutes into the season. But it was worth itbecuase it was a good 10 pointer.
