Has anyone seen any rutting activity in southern West Virginia? I have scheduled my vacation for the middle of the week to correspond to the "experts" rutting moon phase. Has anyone seen any bucks chasing, making rubs and scrapes?

In central WV there is zero. I was out all morning and there was no scrapes, very few rubs, and no bucks on the move.

Robinhood-
I hunt Fayette & Nicholas Co. and have been out all but two days the last two weeks.
Last week I saw a buck chase a doe for about a minute...then put his head down and start chewing some grass. Also last week I saw a buck with a doe....but wasn't able to watch them or see them that well to see if they were displaying any rut behavior...or just happened to be in the same draw at the same time.
I was out from sun-up to sun-down today and saw no bucks and 17 very relaxed does. I did, however, run across a fresh scrape....
It's a little wacky right now....if anything changes tomorrow, I'll be sure to post.
Good luck...

Well, I'm finally seeing some rutting action here in Southern WV, like my post says, I seen a nice buck the other evening with 5 does and seen him again Sat. morn chasing a doe like crazy. Then watched him through my rangefinder make another scrape (found one of his already) and watched him rub a tree also. I think its getting real close. Plus alot of the does in my area is getting real spooky, and acting funny.

Thanks WVBowhuntr, Makes me feel better about taking time off work now that you all are seeing some bucks. I will be hunting Summers and Mercer Wed thru Sat hoping that the rut is in full swing by then.
