What some of we "OLDER" hunters, (or is that more mature agewise), or more experienced .... anyway, people sometimes forget where they came from. We all started at nearly the same point at one time. Whether it was 30 years ago or 3 years ago... we were all once beginners who had never shot an arrow at a deer. Most of us had some failures and misses along the way. Most of us have shot a deer we wouldn't shoot today. WE ALL rejoiced at our first kill, whether it was Macho Buck or Bambi. We rejoiced even while others may have questioned our animal selection. There are exceptions... but we all started pretty much the same. We have people on this site from around the world. The diversity of our individual herds is greater. Some of us can sit there and let 110 class bucks walk without thinking of it. Others of us may never see a 110 deer on the hoof. I started in a time when many states did NOT even allow deer hunting. Imagine that. Some of those same states are big buck havens today. If you are fortunate enough to have never known small herds, small deer, or simply what it's like to be one of a handful to even get a shot with a bow in the year... you're truly blessed. REJOICE with the man and his daughter-in-laws joy for him. Man, think of that.... a daughter-in-law that likes hunting and enjoys seeing the OTHER guy succeed. Ladybowhunter.... you can hunt in my camp anyday..... Pappy too. You don't know me, if you're in my camp and come up with Bambi I may do a little ribbing about sticking it in your daypack, or hiding it in the glove compartment... but I'll have a smile on my face, and pat for your back and true congradulations and I'll always think of what I felt with my first one and what I felt with my 70th one. "It's great to be a hunter. People just don't know what they're missing". Enjoy, rejoice and have fun. Don't worry about the true trophy hunter who would criticize... that's his thing... you do yours. I'll always have a slap on the back for you... and probably a jab or two in the ribs.

If my freezer is empty, a button will fall if it is a 100lbs or more. A deer is a deer.

You weigh em before you shoot em?

And who said this?:

quote:
THEY consider shooting a button buck beneath THEM.....

Me too....if they're below me, I shoot em.....
