Default 2 Minutes - 2 Button Bucks

Today, my husband, his dad and myself went hunting. We were hunting in the same place as Tuesday, and that day, my dad-in-law took 6 shots at a deer. He was so disappointed he was going to "hang up his bow". My husband told him to get mechanical broadheads because the others may not have been flying right since dad didn't tune his bow to them. Well, we get into the stands about 1:30, and at 2:15 he comes to get us. He shot 2 deer thinking they were both does. One went 30 yards the other about 100. When we found them, we realized they were both button bucks - probably brothers. Well, needless to say, he was ecstatic. He was running around acting like a kid at Christmas. It was fun to watch, and we were so happy for him after the other day. God is Good!!

Have any of you ever made a mistake ? Well I have , I have also shot a button that came in running , stopped dropped its head to feed and was followed by another smaller deer, I also assumed it to be a doe. I was not proud of my mistake, but I was proud of my shot placement. Poor form in my opinion, worth 2 cents and if you want change I dont have any. You bash one for their mistake and then to ridacule and joke about their mistake, POOR FORM! Take a mistake and turn it into a learning experience not a humilitating and degrading experience.

Thank you Lady Forge.Dad had no idea until after they were dead that they weren't does. As a matter of fact, he kept calling them does the whole time we were field dressing them. I'm sure glad for honest people like you who will admit that you also make mistakes sometimes. No wonder there was a post about being sick of some of the people on this site. As bowhunter's, we should be proud of any deer taken with a bow. Jeez you guys, lighten up.<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>
As for Luke 979, what was Dad supposed to do, start crying? It was an honest MISTAKE. I guess you are one of those perfect people who never make them, good for you.
