I was asking my Hoyt dealer today about the Liberty bow and he seems to think that there is a minimum axle to axle length of 29'' in IA. I guess I didn't know of length limits; I always thought it was a poundage issue. How about out of state? Any of you aware of laws regarding hunting with a short bow like the Liberty?

If there is, I'm sure cupid stuck me with an illegal bow. I wonder if the judge would believe even me.
Seriously I have no idea. I thought poundage was the mark. I knowa shorter bow effects the accuracy.

As far as I know, no states that I have heard of have laws preventing one from hunting with a Liberty bow for any reason. I have been asked this before at the shop, and I know New York specifically doesn't. I work at the shop tomorrow night, and will ask Howard (inventor and owner of Liberty) about this to see if he has ran into any problems.

In the Iowa dnr regs there is nothing I can find about axle length. min 18" arrow length but thats as close as I could find as to wherever that belief started....

P&Y has a 29" minimum in their rules, but I've never heard of any state laws like that. I'm sure you guys can get P&Y to change that rule though. They've got no principles any more, so just wait until someone shoots a potential record animal, then start bitching about it like you did the letoff rule and you've got it made.
