Default G5 Tekan II

Anybody shoot these new Tekan expandables yet? I looked at them yesterday and they look like a solid head, but I wanted to get some feedback before I drop $25 on a set.

Wicked, nasty deer killers they are. The only problem I can see with them, without having done an extensive test, is that you can't shoot them through the mesh of a blind. The blades will open.

I have to admit that their look intrigues me as well. I do remember reading how they might be illegal in PA because of the potential "barbed" issue. Is any of that true? Did they address it yet?

The tekan II is a great head, tough accurate, opens fast. the original Tekan wasn't bad, but had a problem holding blades. Make sure you buy the Tekan II and you should be fine provided your setup is putting out 50 ft/lbs of KE or more and your shooting deer size game.

the Tekan's are not legal in Illinois the last time I heard for the very reason PA mentioned... They don't pass the "barbed" test. Not saying I agree with the ban or that I disagree either, I was told the company was working with IDNR (Translate that to mean whatever you want it to mean because it can runa gammit of possibilities) but who know what is going on with them. As far as Mech's go they always intrigued me but I tend to be a bigger fan of cut on contact fixed blades..

I guess I don't totally understand how they are considered barbed. From the looks, it is just a cross between a fixed (bleeder blade) and the mechanicals of past. Other mechanicals slide back like that. Can someone help me out here?
