Default No Excuses Bullets - Has Anyone Shot Them?

Have any of you shot these bullets made by "No Excuses?" In 50 cal. they come in 460 and 495 grains. I cannot find any loads for these size of bullets. Below is the URL to the site.

Thanks..

I shoot them out of a number of different inline rifles that have a 1:28 twist. I have also shot them out of 1:48 twists. I do not need to push these hard because of the extreme weight of the projectile. The down range energy is fantastic. I actually get my best groups shooting 80 grains of Triple Se7en FFg powder without a wonderwad. I've never tried them with wonderwads but others have and claim the same good accuracy. I get excellent groups out of my scoped T/C Black Diamond XR with Pyrodex P, Goex 3f, and Triple Se7en all in the 80-85 grain range....

Good luck.. they are a favorite hunting conical of mine...

Thank you for your info. on the No Excuses Bullets. At 80 - 85 grains 777, how many FPS do you think you are getting?

Thanks again

I shoot them out of my T/C Hawken. My load is 85 gr. of 2f goex. I don't have a chrono., but my guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200-1300 fps.

My dream is to one day get to Colorado and shoot an Elk with my sidelock. I ordered the big 460 gr. conicle with that in mind. When they came in the mail several years ago I was suprised at the consistant accuracy I got with them, and it has become my primary hunting load. So far, I have shot two whitetail with them. The big bullet punched through the deer with just about the same ease as it does a target on a piece of cardboard.

C.Davis is correct. Tested, the 460 grain are doing about 1200-1200 fps. The real eye opener with them is the down range energy they still have when hitting the target. On some other sights they show some hogs people shot with the big conicals and you can not believe the wound channel it puts through an animal....WOW

and you're right again C. Davis they would make an excellent elk load in my opinion and they do sure have some down range power to them......

Like cayugad, I've gotten very good results with the 460s out of my 22" barrelled Knight USAK. I found my best accuracy with them using a lubed wad & 90gr of 2fg 777 powder. This load yielded an average muzzle velocity of 1259fps.

Here's a link to see my target results:

Anyone try them from an Omega - either 45 or 50?

Thanks

Yes...I have recently shot a bunch of the 460gr No Excuses from my Omega. Had the best accuracy with 80 gr. 3F and a wonderwad. Shot a nice 3 inch group at 100 yards with open sights...two shots were touching! Tried BM3 and Pinnacle...VERY inconsistent in my Omega. I won't shoot 777 because of the crud ring I get.

That is some excellent shooting there. And I do not mean just the target.. Excellent hog also. It looks like the big chunk of lead really knocked the snot out of "Porky!"
