Hello everyone,
ive been hunting with a muzzleloader for 1 year now, and had a successful season the first year, now im beginning the 2nd year and would like to get a new up to date muzzleloader. Ive been looking at the encore for sometime now and was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit about it. How does it shoot? Is it worth the money? Ive heard in one reveiw that the preferred stock is the wooden one. any information on the encore would be greatly apperciated

Welcome IAWhitetail,I have the walnut stock version in 50 cal. and I love it,This will be my third year with it and it shoots very well,I can' t say if its better than synthetic I just like the feel of wood ,I will be buying a neww barrel next year in 30.06 or 300 win short mag not sure yet but its nice to be able to swap barrels on it for whatever you' re hunting and it fits together real nice,The only thing I did to mine was get the trigger adjusted down to around 3lbs and it shoots 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups,Its well worth the money for a gun you could hunt with a lifetime!!

I have purchased the thompson center encore today! It looks fantastic, and the feel is great, i have not had a chance to shoot it yet though, i had cabelas bore sight it in too, which took so long leaving me no time to shoot it, i hope to get out tomarrow after work, i will let you know what kind of groups i am getting.

Congrats IAW.... I bought a T/C Encore about three seasons ago. It shoots great, feels great. What I like is that you get a long barrel that handles like a short barrel because you don' t have all that bolt business to fool with...but the best part is cleaning is super quick.
It shoots a variety of bullets and powders well.

Hi, Ive got a SS enore in 209x50, i Love it! Treedog, please post where you got your info about the wsm from....i shoot an abolt in 300wsm, and consider both a 300wsm and 4570 bbl for the encore. I wasnt aware the wsms were avail for it yet,
geez it' ll handle 375 h&H, i think it oughta fire a dinky lil 300 wsm

adkrednik that' s right the wsm' s have too great of pressure of over 60,000 cups and aren' t safe according to TC. Same thing goes for Ultra Mags. Actually 375' s aren' t too high pressured.
