I got two of them where I hunt turkeys. Unfortunately in Missouri when turkey season is on we cannot shoot them as they are protected during that time. April 20 is the big show date and it cannot come any sooner.I see them all the time during deer season, but with one shot muzzy I can just see the deer laughing as they would walk by after the shot. They are white and would look great mounted I'm sure. A 45 or 50 cal muzzy will do the work.I would be comfortable using a deer load on one of them. Depends on whether or not you want to keep the pelt. If you do,you want a smaller weight bullet, maybe a 200 gr would shoot well with minimal pelt damage. If you do not want the pelt I would use the biggest weight in your deer load and that will do it. If baiting is legal you can get them in close for a roundball shot. If rabbit season is on get a rabbit carcass, after you have taken what you need for a good ol stew of course, for bait. I have had them within 30 yards of my turkey decoys but againI cannot shoot them during turkey season and on top of that the shot would not have an effect anyway on them.

Just shoot them with your ML. The bullet doesn't really matter, as a .50 cal hole will kill any coyote pretty quick. When I hunt my Aunt & Uncle's and their neighbor's land, the standing order is to shoot coyotes on sight, no questions asked. It's legal year round in Iowa with a small game license (also required for deer hunting), and the neighboring farmers consider the only good coyote is the one that isn't breathing.

don't make it even harder, my 45cal and my knight usak are both sighted in for deer
That's my point. Why change anything to shoot a Coyote?

Geez Gotbuck - didn't you ever miss a turkey and hit a coyote accidentally??
We'relucky, we can shoot them anytime.

I agree with cayugad a 22 rimfire does not make much of a long range weapon. I have shot truckloads of coyotes they are very common here in Arkansas, the season is long, and its bunches of fun to call them in. Mainly when I hunt them I use my 22-250 or 25-06, but I have shot them with lots of different rifles up to a 300 winmag. I doubt that you have just one yote, I'd bet money there are many more around your hunting area. Once they move in there there to stay its impossible to kill them all out. When this world comes to an end there will be two things left yotes and possums lol.
