Ditto what gander did on making his own sticks - at www.prbullet.com they have a do-it-yourself guide to making your own shooting sticks. Mine work great and I had a lot of fun making them. You can buy the store bought kind too, I just always find it more satisfying when I make something myself.

My experance with timber line hunting in the Rockies is that you have to take about half your shots standing, thats when one of the telescopeing monoples that you can use as a walking stick can be worth while. Just my opinion, of course the area you hunt in might be different fro the two that I have access to.Lee
