Anti Seize
Well I just gave my new Lyman Gp barrel a hot soapy bath, scrubbed the bore, believe it or not it was not as dirty as described in yesterday's post.Oiled the bore using Hoppers #9, oiling the outside as well. Now to the question, I know some of you use slick 50,on the clean out plug, what about the nipple thread? Would it not seize also? or do you stay away because it might contaminate the powder? Also would you suggest using a little bore butter or moose milk down the barrell for now as its going to be a while before I can get to the range. DCH

RE: Anti Seize
I use an antiseize on all my nipples. I just use some I picked up at Auto Zone for about $3. The tube will probably last me the rest of my life.
I'm like Cayugad, I swab some RemOil down there and leave it. Just like my centerfires and rimfires. Getting ready to shoot, solvent or alcohol down the barrel on a patch, with a dry one or two after.
I haven't found any rust yet.

Thanks Cal, Purchased some slick-50 grease, it will last 6 lifetimes. Had a little problem finding it. Finally purchased from Checker Auto. By the way that cleanout plug is really tiny, so I called Lyman and they going to send me a couple extras,[Free].Custormer Service is great, as I had several issues and they answered without question.
