I'm getting close to the end of my stash of older CVA#11 hot flash caps so I recently bought some Nobel 1075's to try out. I tried them out during my last 2 outings and found that they don't fit over the nipple very well, in fact they are way too tight compared to all the other #11's I've tried. One of them took 4 hammer strikes to finally seat and fire. The nipple is brand new and works fine with the CVA caps but out of a dozen 1075's tried, only one of them went off on the first try. I know I can file the nipple a bit and make it work but it seems these caps are closer to a #10 size than #11.Has anyone else noticed this?

I have used a ton of these 1075's and have never noticed a problem fitting on the nipple - and I use all kinds of nipples. They are tight I will grant you that as I have to pry them off. So I guess I am of no help.

Yes they are a tighter fit. I was told they are just a hair more narrow then a standard #11 cap. Perhaps the 1075 is an indication of that. Could they have been indicating .1075 VS .11?? I am not sure. Although I do find they fit the Green Mountain and T/C stainless steel nipples fine and seem to fire every time.

Used them from back before inlines never had a problem. You mmight consider puting a leather strip over the threads and puting the nipple in the drill and taking a file and very careful not to go to far turn the nipple down, just a bit, it may be a bit oversized. Lee

Thanks for the replies.
Lee,
That is the technique I use after a few range sessions to remove any swelling/peening in the nipple from firing. I just wanted to find out if anyone else had experienced this difference. I will use the file to adjust the diameter just enough to get it to fit on all the way but not too loose. Thanks foir all the help.

1075 does mean 10 3/4, not quite a #11.
They are very snug on my T/C Renegade nipple, but I like them that way. When I load it, I VERY carefully lower the hammer onto the cap and press the hammer to seat the cap on the nipple. I have to pry it off with akey or a knife. I don't reuse them.
Anyway, best caps out there IMO.
