Did anyone read the story on the Mississippi record bow kill. The guy was walking to his stand when he saw the buck laying down. The buck jumped up and took off running. Then the guy took a shot. When he found the deer it had bled out due to a shot the clipped its femoral artery. The story just showed poor judgment on the hunters part, I hope that new hunters don't read it and think that it is accepted as good to take a 35yrd shot at a running buck.

I've passed shots at nice deer because of their 'iffiness', but I won't begrudge a guy for taking a nice buck and i won't give it an endorsement either! We need to be responsible no doubt about it!

I read it and didn't like it either! While I hesitate to pass judgement on anyone without knowing the full story and even then I am not quick to do it.I do believe that it is tremendously irresponsible on the part of the magazine to publish an article without editing those types of scenario's out.It serves no purpose,it has us hunters appear in a bad light and may encourage hunters that are influenced by articles like that to take shot's that aren't responsible.
