I do put anti-sieze on the nipple PART that goes into the breech plug or the bolster - just to be clear... before SEMISANE gets here...

I usually just use a match stick (the cardboard kind form a matchbook, not a wooden one) and just use a tiny bit. (I guess my nipples aren't as big as Cayugads).
Another trick I do is to hold the nipple or flash hole with a pipe cleaner so I don't get that stuff on my fingers.

Always use anti-seize lube on nipples and breech plugs.
The best I have ever used is Birchwood/Casey Choke Tube Lube. Don't need to glob ona ton, just coverage. Q-Tip to toothpickworks nicely.
Also, even with lube don't wait too long to get the nipple/breech plug removed and cleaned. I always loosen the nipple or breech plug a bitat the range when I am finished shooting.
Once you have a seized anything on an ML, you will always remember the benefits of anti-seize lube.
