I bought one of the left handed Acu-Sport Thumbhole rifles. I you look at the cartridge rifle sight in a picture, you will see what I mean about the fold down(I am sure you probably already know). I am pretty sure the fold down would fit the D&T holes in the barrel. I am sure I have a sight laying around, and could measure it if you want. I did not care for the fiber optics.
I think you will find that the Warne will give you more length-which will give you more adjustment with your scope. I will try to get a couple of pictures this afternoon for you. I have tried the Leupold's, and they were just too short. Tom.

Tom,
Thanks for the picture and the measurement. I'll just have to see what I can find that works. If Cabelas doesn't have what will work then I'll try Sportsman's Warehouse or one of the local shops here in Phoenix and see what works. I really didn't think about changing the rear sight and will look into that also.
It might boil down to me having to have the holes re-drilled and tapped so the larger Torx screws will work but what really bothers me is that the screws wouldn't even go through the factory drilled holes in the Leupold base. But that will get worked out one way or another.
Thanks again,
Barry

Well I finally decided to contact Leupold about the Torx screws instead of making the long drive out to Cabelas. The customer service guy said he was very surprised to hear that the screws for the base didn’t fit and then he asked for my home address. He said that the new screws would go in the mail first thing last Thursday and they arrived in the mail today. I just installed them on my Encore and they fit like a charm.
I’m very pleased with how well Leupold handled this and how quickly they got the screws out to me. With any luck I should be out shooting the Encore this weekend.
Thanks to everyone who posted information and your help.

I just received my late X-mas present it was a TC Encore with a SS barrel and the green laminated thumb-hole stock. It was exactly the gun I was looking for. I also got the Nikon Omega BDC scope and I want to install it using Leupold QD mounts. Here is what I need to know about the QD rings… I have front and rear sights on the rifle so how tall do I have to go with the rings? They come in low, med and high styles. I only want to go as high as necessary…so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, AZbear

I tried the 40 but the scope touched the barrel ever so slightly so I took them back and traded them for high mounts.

I had to take the rear sight off my Encore with the QD rings in medium height and a Nikon Monarch 3x9x40. It was really close though, but I removed the sight to get the scope in the most comfortable position for me.
I'm a Nikon scope guy myself, but I'll admit I only use Leupold rings and bases. Leupold customer service is a class act. The have sent me numerous torx screws and scope caps, all free of charge.
Good luck with you Encore.

Well I decided to go with the med rings and just remove the rear sight and if needed I'll take the scope off and re-install the sight and press on. I have the fiber optic sight and it doesn't fold down. The Scope has a 40mm front tube and gives me excellent clearance, I bought the high rings as well to try out but the scope required me to lift my face slightly up and off the stock. Not worth the pain and effort when I could do it right the first time. To everyone thanks again for your comments.

Chap,
That was why I bought both sets the Cabelassalesman said no problem making the return just bring them back. So that is what I'll be doing this weekend. The Cabelas guy said he felt bad about having to sell me two sets but we both agreeded that was the only way to figure it out...glad they didn't cost major dollars.
