I had to take the rear sight off my Encore with the QD rings in medium height and a Nikon Monarch 3x9x40. It was really close though, but I removed the sight to get the scope in the most comfortable position for me.

I'm a Nikon scope guy myself, but I'll admit I only use Leupold rings and bases. Leupold customer service is a class act. The have sent me numerous torx screws and scope caps, all free of charge.
