Thats what im saying, you can see the each corner on the bolt where the tool is starting to round off the edges. I still like the slotted design better, i dont see how the slotted design could ever screw up.

Slotted BP - you are probably right - UNTIL you stick one then I would prefer the socket head...

I have an Omega breech plug that has had about 12 pounds of powder burned through it and the flash hole is 3 times as big as it started out the area you are discussing also shows a bit of burning this I considered normal wear, nipples and breech plugs that serve the same purpose are always going to show that kind of wear,it is possible to get a bad one I had one the showed burnout in 250 shots which is not right. Lee

Wow I will post a pic of my old plug soon to show you folks how good it has lasted.

I called TC today and they said to send the breech plug back and they will send me a new one for free!! I am going to order a replacement from Cabelas and then I will send it to them. That way I will have a spare anyway.
