I have an Omega breech plug that has had about 12 pounds of powder burned through it and the flash hole is 3 times as big as it started out the area you are discussing also shows a bit of burning this I considered normal wear, nipples and breech plugs that serve the same purpose are always going to show that kind of wear,it is possible to get a bad one I had one the showed burnout in 250 shots which is not right.
