I am shooting the cva magbolt 150 with cva powerbelt bullets at 295 grains and can't get a decent group with 100 gr pellets. Should I go to Goex ffg or cleanshot? A friend said the triple seven is the latest and greatest synthetic powder on the market. Should i go that route? thanks

Thats the problem with pellets. It could also be that the rifle likes a different type of bullet. But I agree with lonewolf5347. The first thing I would do is to go to loose powder. Then you will have to work with the rifle and the different bullets out there, and find the sweet load. You might want to look back through the different postings and see what combinations works in others identical type rifle. Good luck and happy shooting..

I had the same problem when i tried
pyrodex pellets in my inline.
I changed back to pyrodex rs powder
and got good groups again. Maybe
the pellets are just finicky about
which bullet they push? I tried three
different brands of Sabots and got the
same bad results.

tealboy,
Let me echoy what everbody else has said.Loose the pellets and go loose. After you pour powder down barrel, tap butt of gun 2-3 times on ground to settle powder.Push bullet onto powder charge with exactly the same pressure ever time you load.If all that don't work, get rid of the powerbelt bullets. Some smoke poles just won't group with those things.

I love the powerbelt bullets, but so far have found marginal accuracy with 100 gr pellets. I went from 295's to 245's and 90 gr. Pyrodex RS and got good groups. My son and I both shoot CVA Hunterbolt 209's. Same results in both guns, but just got the guns and we are still experimenting.
