I found out one thing about the recoil with an Omega,if your shooting off a benchrest don't put your left knuckles where the knob under the triggerguard can catch them when you are loading 150gr APP FF behind a sabot and 350 gr bullet. It makes them smart so smart that they don't go back there again. Lee

After UC discussion I though of that very thing - so now I am waiting for school to get out so i can go home and see I do cradlethe gun - but i do not think I am on the trigger guard in anyway - but I can not remember...

Sometimes my job just gets in the way of fun things....

I have fired my Omega with 120 grs loose 777 and a 375 gr. Buffalo Bullet. I am not going to tell you there wasn't quite alot of recoil but it wasn't a problem for me ( I have a Simms recoil pad on mine--made alot of difference). I have never had a problem with the trigger guard--- have fired around 150 shots and still have all my fingers.

No, not really. It'z da truth - but you know I'm the "conical guy" and sometimes I torture myself with rifles that weren't really meant for the big boolits.

DoH!! I responded to nchawkeye and failed to notice there's been a few posts since. [:-]

It's the lead fumes http://www.missouri-whitetails.com/data/500/49411280c.jpg Gonna try these featherweights in my Super91 .410 to see how they fly.

Hope that you have as much fun with your Omega as I have had with mine the last 3 years . It shoots a raged hole at 100 yards . You just have to find the load that works best for you .
