Yes, the RWS#1075 Plusare hotter. I keep forgetting to reference the "Plus +". The#1075 "plus +" version is all I shoot. Sorry for the confusion.

Good place to buy on the web:

Or retailers in your area:

Hi Phil,

I'm not sure about Pinnacle as I have not shot any yet, but you will have no trouble at all with Black Mag'3 ignition.

BM'3 is proabobly has the best ignition characteristics of any substitute powder I've ever shot.

According to Magkor, supposedly Black Mag'3 has an ignition temperature of 345 C (653 F)while black powder ignites at 300 C (572 F).

Hodgdon MSDSPyrodex ignition temperature is 393 C (740 F).
Hodgdon MSDS 777 ignition temperature is 410 C (770 F).

I can't say for sure but BM'3 ignites very well.

Tahquamenon and everyone,

Thanks a bunch for the experienced comments on my question. It sure is nice to rely on someone else's experience instead of learning the hard way. I plan to get the 1075 caps and won't be adapting for the musket caps. Again, thanks,I appreciate it greatly.

Happy Hunting, Phil

Thanks! I was at Sportsmans warehouse the other day and they do have the plus. So do they burn hotter than the CCI Mags? And how close to musket caps? If I start shooting Goex like I plan with those RWS#1075 Pluscaps then that will be very reliable.

Another plus of the RWS#1075 caps is that they are pretty waterproof. We dropped several brands of #11 caps in a cup of water and left them there for about 1/2 hour. Only the RWS went bang. Tried this later with the Musket caps, and both the CCI and the RWS gave reliable ignition.
