American Pioneer sticks? Anybody use them yet
I was wondering if anyone has tried the "new" version of the CleanShot pellets,....now sold as a stick and under the new name of American Pioneer Powder Inc.???

I have not used the sticks, but have tried the Clean Shot Powder. I was very pleased with the results of that, and the clean up was real nice too. I saw them advertized in one of my magazines.

i used the old ones which were round and liked them very much. however the new ones are square and are a little bigger than the bore and the edges get crunched off putting them in. i dont use them anymore. i am doing just fine with the pyrodex pellets. i will give the 777 pellets a try when they come out

I used the old roung pellets brfore Hogdon got all pissy about someone having a better product. I dont see the advantage of the new "sticks" You have to push them into the barrel with your thumb as they are oversize. It is easier to use the readily available "Loose" clean shot powder, pre measure your loads and pour em down the barrel. Makes the fine tuning easier as well. From what I could tell the loose shot the same as the pellets.

Thanks Rodsmith. I think I'll get somebody to split a jar with me so as to test it out. I agree that the loose is the way to go for VERY consistent charges...............was just wondering if anybody had any trial runs yet.
After I try it I'll get back here and let you know what pans out.
