Took in a pack trip last week and the more mature bulls were at full growth and still not rubbing. Seen alot of smaller bulls that had nubs still forming. Idaho is right still got a week or two to go. I love taking pictures of them big boys with velvet hanging off their horns. So I'll be watching.

Got a report yesterday from some family members that they are starting to rub in our unit.
That's what I like to hear. It's that time of the year boys. 1 1/2 more weeks and my hunt opens!

I ran into 2 nice rubs today. Peeled off prettyhigh and the brush busted up good around them so that put a smile on my face. I was down the edge of that field on wednesday so its happened since then, probably just gettin goin now. The spikes are still holdin velvet and will for at least 2 weeks yet but the big boys will be all shined up come opening day aug 22nd. Hard to say what they will bugle like probably not much activity those first few days but if we keep having this cool weather things should turn out pretty good i think.
