I went out thurs. and had a great time. Could have shot a doe but decided to pass it up. She was with a button buck. I had pee'd out of my stand probly not even 20 minutes earlier and they walked right up to it and never seemed to smell it. Then the stood around under my stand and between the tree and the ladder to my stand for several minutes. Great time in the woods.

The next one that comes close is going to get an arrow I got a feeling.

I'm still around Jim. I've been pretty busy with dad and all, but he threw me out of his house Friday night and told me to go hunting Sat being we had cool weather coming in. I sat one of my favorite morning spots with no sightings at all, but I think the fact that the beans were harvested on Friday had something to do with that...it was wierd too because there is NO WAY those beans were ready to be combined.
I went again Sat evening on the opposite end of the farm from my morning sit, and didn't see any deer again until walking out. I guess I should have picked a different stand or moved when I heard the guy on the adjacent property loading wood into his truck. Oh well...it was nice to get out any way, and dad liked hearing about it when I got back so it was all good. Good luck to all of you, I'm still trying to get out hunting when I can, and trying to check in here also when I can.

oh boys...i have been gettin out as much as possible..i have been seeing lots of lil bucks and lots of does...everything seem to come into range besides those elusive big bucks..i was hunting along the missouri river and spotted a real nice buck prolly somewhere in the 150's walkin bout 300 yards away, nevertheless, he didnt come any closer....yesterday i was in the stand after school and i seen a big heavy beamed buck walkin along this tree line...so i grabbed the grunt call..gave it a couple of grunts and he turned and came in like he was on a string...ran right to the bottom of my stand..and i drew back and as soon as he came into the opening i realized all of his tines were really short and stubby...but he was like 18-19" wide and had awesome mass...i decided to let him go..cuz he prolly wouldnt score over 120"...but it was a excellent encounter..came to the bottom of my ladder....lol.....i have beeen out everyday i dont have work...and im going out tomarrow after school...wish me luck...i hope i have a similar encounter..but with a tall tined freak nasty...what do ya say!!!..im ready to say "RED ROVER... RED ROVER....I JUST TIPPED ONE OVER"!!!!!!!!! that is our motto!!!!...lmao!!!!!! I am soo sorry bout your dad rattlesnake!....oh another thing....say a prayer to Fred Bear..he will guide your arrows home!!!!!!.lol...

Did I miss something or has anyone heard from Antler Eater lately? I know he had at least one hunt to go on, but I thought that was early on. Anyone know when his season starts?

...Old AE has been lurking aroundhere for the last week or so. I have been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest trying to get all of my stands up before the rut rolls around.

I got a bear in early September but the elk hunting was very poor. Where I was I never heard one single bugle and in two weeks I only saw the legs of one elk, don't know if it was a legal animal or not....Oh well, as they say, that is why it is called hunting and not killing....

I have a ways to go before I am done putting stands up, when that is done I will have more time, then I should be able to post more... Until then, carry on......

Thanks for the update Ken! Did ya post pics of the bear somewhere on here? If so, just point me to the story and pics! Good to hear from ya again and good luck once you're ready to roll!

Are we representing in the woods this weekend? Who is getting out? I am heading out to a small location that I have access to for only the next 4 days. I am really not expecting much but hopefully I will get lucky!
