Some people may schedule a couple weeks of doubles when they return from their trip and then roll right into their home state archery season. Then, instead of being able to share their story with others here they would instead have their character called into question for doing something shadey when in fact they did nothing wrong. That would be a real shame.

I have been an active member for almost 5 years and never placed a phone call to another member. Again, assuming a lot.

If need be, that's what captains are for. To settle the what ifs, what the hells and the foul play.
Really?? voting on leaf thickness? I realize questions will come up and need to be dealt with but this one seems imposible to be accurate and something guys in trucks will not be held to the same scrutiny.

Agree 100%............but bringing that suspicion on someone who has done nothing wrong is worse IMO.

not a bad idea, but some late archery seasons run after the gun season, like here in WI, and should I get a buck during gun season I wouldnt be able to shoot a buck late season and enter it. I realize the discrepancy that can/has happened, but there are honest people out here as well.
my vote goes undecided.

Also assuming alot and more rare than a 5-7 day hunt.
Also assuming alot and more rare than a 5-7 day hunt.
Assuming nothing, it happens, happened alot this year.
Don't know, do you know?
True but some will be obvious where others won't even be questioned. We know that. However, there is a distinct difference if I shoot a buck in the first week of Oct and post it Nov 10th and say look at the buck I just shot. It's not designed to find them all but to discourage those that might try.
That might be your opinion but I feel it's worse to lie and cheat, suspicions can be dismissed with truths but lies and cheats are still that, liars and cheaters.

Rob, glad to see you back!! Thanks for all you do with the contest, it wouldn't be the same without you! Unfortunately things like this arise and some just won't be happy with the rules or the decision made by powers that be .
I'd be happy to have you come hunt ILanytime to pay you back for all the work you do to make this a great enjoyable contest!

I think that the "FIRST buck" with a bow for those states that allow multiple kills would be o.k.
We don't want to penalize the guys who have a gun and bow tag.
Good to see 'ya back Rob. Thanks for everything.

Glad to see you back Rob!
I vote for Rule 9a (seems to address the holdout issue), but against Rule 9b.
If it's in, that's the rule, but I don't see how limiting it simply to the first buck (antlered deer) taken with a bow is not sufficient to address issues of "fairness."
If you take the people who can only kill 1 buck and then take out the people who bowhunt only,
I would think you are left with very few people. There are lots of unfair things about hunting - such
as the fact that in my neck of the woods 125" is a beast and the fact that I have to work too much.
Anyway, I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it, I'm just answering the post.

Atlas I will call you when I shoot one, it may be next year, don't hold your breath
I called buckeye tonight, we had a good talk. He want us to hire Les Miles[&:]
OK whatever happens happens.
I said my peace and I am with Gregh on the gun/bow issue, as for as the 10 day rule, that is a hard one to inforce. At some point we have to trust other members. So my vote is to nix the 10 day rule.
I will go with the majority
and whatever Rob decides. If I don't like it there is always AT, wait I am banned from there, I guess I like it[8D]

I have never called anyone after a kill. I take them home flop them on the garage floor and ask the wife to go get some freezer bags. When she says go get them yourselfI do that. I voted aginist the rule and I am in a one buck state. Bowhunting is bowhunting and gun hunting is gun hunting.
