Wis, i havent been on here in a while, did you get one!!!!! If so, congrats. Any story and pics?

Im heading out this afternoon. Last time i hunted was friday and saw a forkhorn. It was the first time i hunted the property behind our shop, so i didnt know what to expect. My brother said that he has seen a really nice 8 point traveling with a 4 point, so i got real excited when the 4 point came out. Unfortunately he was alone. Ill try again later this week when the weather is better. I have a feeling that im putting one down this week, but then again, i have said that alot before. Lets get going team, we need to get some inches up on the board.

Well guys, i had a great afternoon in the woods. Saw 7 bucks and 5 does. All 7 bucks were chasing after one tine 50 pound doe. All came so close i could have spit on them and they stuck around for atleast a half hour. All tiny spikes and 4 points, along with one small 70 inch 8 point. The chasing is going on all over the place now. Talked to 2 buddies who were also out last night and they said the same thing. Cant wait to get in the woods this afternoon.

Rattled the first one of the year in last night after work. Being Halloween and all, It was a must to be in the stand ASAP right after work. Got in the stand by 5:30 and once the sun went below the trees I started hittin the horns. About 40 seconds into it I catch movement to my left. I look to see a buck coming my way in a hury. I put down the antlers and pick up my bow. From 100yds out i can see it is a shooter, but once he is within 40yds i see that his left main beam is broken off right after the G-2. DAMN! He looked to be a 3 1/2 would be 10pt with tall brow tines (6-8inches) With both sides he would have scored around high 130's - mid 140's. Well, after he checked the wind and got a little nervous, he turned around and walked back to where he came from. All in all it was a great night and really got my blood pumping... Good luck to you guys!!!

Guys, was out last night with a buddy hunting where he has been seeing a monster 10 point. We both set up where the deer has been seen in the past and he came to about 70 yards from me but wouldnt close the distance. Will be back this afternoon trying to get him.

Buckeye, great work rattling him in, keep at it.

Wis, where's the pics?

Well my update is not a happy one. The property manager informed me of what he believes to be a poached deer he found. Told meyesterday that monday evening he heard what sounded like a muzzloader shot so he went to investigate. As he drove down the road he saw a silver midsize truck come barreling out from the side dirt road and speed off. He went to the area he thought the shot came from and half on and off the road layed a dead buck.

When he told me the story I drove down to were he had dragged it into the woods and sure enough it was the nice 12 point I had been watching. The property manager believes he interrupted the poacher in trying to load the deer in his truck and rather then get caught they just drove off in a hurry.

I have been watching this buck all summer and pretty much had his patterns figured out. Seen him twice from stand this year but not close enough for a shot. So, after seeing such a fine animal go to waste sort of put me in the dumps. Taking the weekend off from hunting and will jump back into the saddle (treestand) again next week. Hopefully my son will tag a buck this weekend, that may cheer me up.
