Buckeye, thanks for the pm, ill be getting those pics up tomorrow for you guys.

What a hunt i had sat morning. Weather was perfect, very slight breeze, frost on the ground and i just had that feeling something was going to happen. I decided to hunt a spot that is probably my best spot, always see deer here. I hadnt hunted it yet this season cause of the heat and not wanting to mess up the area. I knew where i wanted to be since i have been in this spot before, but in this area i cant put up a permanant stand cause its a county park. Anyhow, i got my climber on the tree that i wanted, but for some reason, once i was about to climb up a feeling came over me that said move 20 more yards down the trail. At first i didnt think much about it, but then it was overwhelming so i moved to another decent tree. Well im in and set up 45 minutes before light so i settle in, i hear something run by and think its gunna happen this morning. At 7am, i look down the trail and see a really nice buck, a shoot for sure.I couldnt count points cause it was just dark enough still, but had a big rack. He walked within 20 yards of the tree, unfortunately though it was 20 yards from the tree i originally set up on, so 40 yards from me. Never came closer than that and walks off. Darn it i say to myself. 20 minutes later at 7:20 3 doe walk down the same path and do the same thing, only this time there is a really nice 8 point following them. One doe stops to piss and he starts scent checking them casing them all over the place. I say to myself, its only a matter of time before he runs a doe under me, but then a 4 point shows up to ruin the fun. The big 8 puts his ears back, puffs up and chases the 4 point away and that spooks the doe. Now only the big 8 is standing there, now about 15 yards from the first tree where i should have been and walks away, stopping to make a scape about 15 yards from that tree. I see another doe at 830, but that was it for the morning, great hunt none the less. I will be back in that tree this afternoon. Lets hope the 2 shooters come through again.

Well team, i went back in the same stand i saw those bucks last night and shot my first doe of the season. Unfortunately i dont have any pics of her, i was alone with no camera and wanted to get her butchered up quick. Saw 2 other button bucks before her but no bucks. Maybe next time. The story is in the main bowhunting forum.

Hey guys whats up? Just popping in to say hi. Weather man says high of 70 thursday thru sunday. Sounds like a nice break from the heat. Thinking of taking thursday and friday off to hunt if it cools down. Whats going on with you Navy?

Okay, seems like my test worked so here is my update.
Not much going on really. Been very busy with a new job position, but I can't let up on it because it could lead to a good position when I retire from the Navy in May. At any rate, not much hunting and when I have there have not been any shot opportunities. Have only seen two small bucks while hunting, but a really good 10 point while removing a stand.

Dave, I had a similar problem with a land issue. There were property line questions so I just left it alone until settled. Fortunately, like yours, my issue was resolved in my favor and I'll be in good shape for land. Also Dave, they are opening us more public hunting land in our area so if you want more info...PM me.

Lastly, I got a new bow on Sunday. Drove up to Baltimore and went to "Len in Maryland"'s shop and got a new Bowtech Commander set up. Took 5 hours between customers, but Len did me a huge favor by setting me up on a weekend day when they don't normally do that. I've shot about 30 arrows so far and could not be more pleased. Good out to 20 yards, but need work at 25 and out.

Good luck guys.

Where's everyone at? Lets hear how everyone is doing. Getting a lot of rain today here in Ohio. It should be agreat morning to hunt on Saturday. I have been seeing deer almost every time in the stand, but it's either no shots or too small. Hopefully the luck will change this weekend. Good luck to everyone!
P.S. Let's try to get some points on the board this weekend

Hey there team, hunted a few times this week, took the doe on monday, but since then it has been slow. Seen a few more doe and a couple buttons, but no bucks. Oh well, there is always next time. For some reason i feel like next week is the week for me, lets hope. According to the weather channel, today and tomorrow morning is going to be a wash for me.

Forecasted high of 85 today in Illinois. No well in **** am I venturing out to the woods. I will be parked in my chair watching football enjoying my last day off before we start some serious hunting next weekend. Temps are finally supposed to break and fall into the 50's for highs this coming week and weekend. We'll hit em hard from here on out. Pre-rut action sould start to heat up by the weekend!
I was able to get a doe kill on film Friday afternoon in 25 mph winds.. I was filming and my buddy was shooting. First deer we've had in bow range all season. Now that he has his first, I told him I get to hunt and he can film until I get one! Hopefully he'll go along with it.
Here is a still pulled from the video. She was a big mature doe. Dressed at 135 lbs.

Been out. Not seeing much even though last Friday I passed on a decent 2.5 year old 8 point. From Oct 26th thru Nov 12th, I will have 11.5 days of hunting. I hope with all that time I am able to get a shot at a buck I’m happy with.
