The guy that put a stand just across the property line shot a small buck this morning (5 POINTER). I was hunting a stand about 150 yards down from him. The buck walked right under my stand at 7:30. I thought he was walking a little hunched up. As he passed by I thought I saw a small blood spot in front of his hind leg. Sure enough at 8:30 I hear two guys yelling back and forth and a four wheeler coming down the ridge behind me (on my property.) I got down and went to talk to them. He ask if I've seen a buck come by and I told him yes and that it was gut shot. He said "well it was a little too dark whenI shot".

To make a long story short...I told him to come back in about 6 hours and try and find him. The bad part is the deer went into a thicket that I leave as a small sanctuary and I never enter it unless I'm going after a deer. Turns out he didn't find it and now everything is all disturbed. I hope things settle down so I can get back after them soon. ( So much for hunting all day )

Both times they gave the Too dark speech. I fond my Dad's in the river, nevetr did find the other!!

heading out in the AM!! im tired and utterly exhausted after this fire training weekend...but figure i can stay up a couple hours and snooze in the stand or just come back and get more sleep. i was going to hunt tuesday but i now realize if i do im going to wear myself out..i have class at 2 so a nap wont fit..and i just dont get to bed early enough up here.

but your looking at one of the newest certified wildland fire fighters!!! training well. definently something im going to try and do over the summer. good way to see some of the counrty and make some cash...just gotta get on somewhere...well see

GERM....since you said you know more about your captains life then his parents....ill fill ya in. debating about chasing a new girl. she was in my fire class. in my major. and looks GOOD. decided to look her up on facebook(a site for college students to post pics and info and meet and such..kinda like myspace) found her....read about her and seen some of her pics....if i can get her she could be a keeper. everything she likes i like. hunting, fishing, same music, drives a TRUCK...EVERYTHING! i added her to my friends and am debating shooting her an instant message righhht now lol. just thought id fill you in....somethin my parents dont know! lol decisions decisions......just wanna make the right one. only thing i dont like is the fact she graduates in the spring...thats kind of a bummer. but mannnnn i dont know.

PS....if i dont see anything in the morning im blaming the FULL moon! it didnt even get DARK tonight!!![:@] i betcha i could see my pins in the woods right now and its partly cloudy!

Germ, enjoy the vacation. Kurt and I are tagged out on deer, why we didn't get a doe tag is beyond me now....Hey, nothing from your SBG. We were out turkey hunting this morn so far, the birds weren't on the property today. We headed out in the trees tonight with only video cameras just to see....it's prolly a bad idea, you know what will happen, the big booners will come out and stick there tongues out at us and laugh. I'm looking forward to NC Jeff, the other day while filming Kurt I kept reaching for my release because it was not there. It's like loosing a finger, you still feel it, I know...lol I was still feeling my release even though it was not there.

well...yep its only 1015 and im back already. i knew i wouldnt last long. just so exhausted from getting up early and bed late for the last week. and i had to get them pics for that project...and i have a computer project due at 6pm..and i guess this week EVERYONE wants to be a bowhunter? sure im on state game lands..but i havent seen anyone else up there all season. today i had 4 vehicles around me. 11k acre state game lands and i have 4 cars within sight of mine..no wonder i didnt see much. heard what im pretty sure was a buck chasing a doe at the crack of dawn. they were about 100yds away in the bottom..got light and they were gone already. heck..one guy went in and he coulda kicked them out to me...definently deer running though. my project led me farther down the ridge and across the gasline and i found a really nice looking spot. pretty thick and alot of oaks and grapevines. my spot would killed me even if deer came in. all the leaves are gone and i found myself with no cover and was watching my shadow 200yds away. wed ill hunt the new area...and plan to stay a little longer..a nice long nap is in order right now. feel like i have mono again

about the girl...man i dont know...shes driving me nuts already..in a GOOD way. i sent her an instant message last night and we talked for atleast an hour. trucks..hunting..fishing..the whole 9. i couldnt believe i was talkin to a GIRL..let alone a good looker. she already asked me to teach her to flyfish..and said she loves squirrel hunting and really wants to go..but doesnt have a truck since she got hit in hers friday. shes got a hurt ankle from rugby...but my spot is 200yds from the truck MAX and there are tree rats everywhere..she built the fire line with us in the fire class so shes not hurt TOO bad..i just know i cant make her climb mountains with me...next time i talk to her ill see if she wants to go next week if she dont have class or anything since bow season will be over. get this...she shoots a BOW!!! she decided not to bowhunt this year..just doesnt have the time but she has bowhunted!! only thing not lookin good is the fact she graduates in the spring...hopefully shes staying for grad school or something! i dont know...still got the current girlfriend..things are...alright..but after 2 years and not much in common we ran out of things to say....a while ago. i really think me being away at school is the only thing that saves us. not seeing her for a week kinda gives it a little help i think. but i dont know...see what happens...definently an awesome girl so far!!

I might get to set up on a VERY quick hunt in the morning (barring rain). I've watched some bucks cross the road at the same spot two mornings in the past week......and I can easily get to the area without being spotted. If they'll cooperate and cross at the same spot, again.......I might get a pot-shot at one of them.

Oh yeah.....they also have to wait until shooting light!!....lol

I know it's asking for alot to come together.....but stranger things have happened! All I know is: 1)I've scouted them twice. 2) They've crossedat the same spot at the same time,twice. 3) I have tags. 4) I can be in a tree.....with my bow.....and a chance.

this girl is awesome..still just getting to know her but mannnnn id drop what i got now for her right now. but i aint so foolish. definently going to play the game till im certain i want her and she wants me..only thing thats gunna screw me is the fact she should graduate in the spring. i got 2 years left. maaaaan someone always rains on my parade..but if nothing else i could definently hang out and have a good time with her while it lasts...didnt get to ask her if she wants to go hunting next week yet..i REALLY want someone like her though..someone i have the same intrests with..someone life will never get dull with. right now me and the GFs convos consist of "how was work? oh cool.."how was class?" "what are you gunna do later?" thats about the extent of it..we will see what happens with the new one...feel kinda guilty kinda sorta sneaking around the gf...but im allowed friends right?? if it would become anything more then that ill definently let the old gf know..but till then i aint doing anything tooo wrong..
