Well guys I shot the nice 8 pointer we've been after, but I think he's gonna live to see another day. I hit him low. There was a very small amount of blood on my arrow. It was to dark and I didn't have a flashlight so I couldn't see any blood on the ground. He did have a limp from his right leg which is the side I shot on. So tommorrow after school I'll look a little but I really don't think I killed him. I doubt thats the last time we'll see him. My brother shot overhis back just 3 or 4 days ago and I know I've seen him 5 or 6 times, but this was the first time he got in range. He was only at 15 yards it should have been a chip shot, but I got to excited and probably did about everything wrong. Well I'll hope for the best which would be another fogdelay for school soI don't have to sit in class and think about him all day. Goodluck to you guys.

brent...good luck finding him....been there done that..sucks...how low do you think you hit?? just the LEG? or grazed the body? or actually low in the body cavity?? if you got in the cavity hes more then likely down..hopefully you hit somethin important..i know a girl that shot a doe with a rifle and grazed its leg. her dad tracked it honestly if i had to guess ATLEAST 2miles through the woods..then clear to the ohio river. i cant remember if the deer went across the roads and the railroad or took the creek/underpass that goes under all that..but he caught up to her and finished the job......anythings possible...dont give up..could made an awesome hit and just dont know it.....darkness can really fool ya sometimes...

Just thought I'd check in gentlemen. Patiently waiting for the chance I am, just patiently waiting.

I've seen alot of different bucks, including one without antlers, just waiting out for the right one.[:@]

I had an invite to a fellow board member that couldn't make it today so my I told my friend Kurt to call his brother. Kurt and I continued to go out with only our video cameras. We've had a legal buck in range every day. Monday evening I had a giant 6x4 in from my Pin Oak stand. He was a dandy, I filmed him as he passed within bow range. Then Tuesday morning we both had a couple bucks in range.

Kurt's brother came up from his hometown and we headed out to another little hidden gem of a spot. He passed on a small 6 point, we saw several good bucks skirt us high so this evening we set up high, at 3:56 I look left and see a mass of antlers coming. I zoomed in with the camera at 60 yards, he's a pefect main frame 8 point, heavy, high and white. 8" G1's, 14" G2's, 12" G3's and 22" plus spread, 20 plus" main beams, a true monarch and I filmed in awe and heart broke as he walked away ignoring everything I threw at him. We left our stands hoping to see him in the morning.

Good luck guys,

Sorry for the tough luck Brent, good luck, mauser you too...on the whitetails and the split tails.

i agree with germ....i know about them HIGH hits noooo good. if you got it in the body cavity im betting your posting pics tomarrow!!

rob...dont worry. still got my priorities straight...BROs(bucks) B4 Does(both kinds lol) till sat night.....then its nothin but does for 2 weeks talk about being confused though....i thought calculus was a little confusing...but being stuck with 2 girls and 1000 decisions makes calc look like childs play! specially when you been with one fore TWO years and just let it hang on by threads...and dont know what the other one is looking for..alls i know is if the new one wants to go passed friends the old one is gone....its hanging by threads now..just lost its flame..a long time ago. shoulda ended it a long time ago but she doesnt realize we have nothing in common and have nothing to say or anything..hopefully next week i get to hang out with the new girl..definently an awesome girl..

no hunting for me tomarrow[:@] class all day...ill be heading home after class though....friday and sat im off....still got some time..let hope im in the right place at the right time.....then the bow will be put away till after xmas...rifle season i dont have a prayer to get one with the bow..but after xmas i wanna do a some bowhunting on days we arent driving with the flinters...

keep at it boys......time is right..everyone seems to be fairing well.....just a matter of the right place at the right time....i know i might been tagged out if i was 5yds higher on the hillside[:@] that hunting....

I hunted the afternoon in my honey hole. I had a neat little 6-pointer (never seen him before) come through @ 5:00......walked right in and stood, broadside @ 12 yds. He was a thin little guy and he looks like he'll have a really nice little rack if he makes it til next year. His brows were already kind of impressive for around here.

I ended up seeing 8-9 deer......just the one buck. I'm taking off Friday and I'll be hunting Saturday if I don't tag a buck, Friday (or...maybe even if I do!).

Good luck, guys. I'm pulling for all of you.

Rob....still no Enigma. I hope he had my correct address. Still lots of time, though.....and I have some to wear. The 6 wouldn't come in to the grunt, yesterday. Honestly.....he came back a ways.....and I had my reasons for thinking I'd take him if he came back. He got to about 60 yds......I grunted some real short sequences.....and no cigar. I think you're going to get here at a good time.

Anyone have success with scents? I'm hunting a new farm, Friday.....and I'm thinking of a doe in estrous drag. Code Blue???? Something else? Mock scrape??? Buehller????? Buehller???

Jeff

Jeff sorry i was a little grumpy yesterday, I am having hunting withdraws!!!

Sounds like you are really into the deer, great to have them by you all the time. Shows you are keeping still and keeping the wind in your favor.

I just email chuck and asked him to put your suggestions in my coat. The safety strap slit was my favorite!!!!

If you and Rob do whack some doe's I am coming down!!
