kybuckhunters season already opened...said he was heading out sunday but never reported back...

i cant wait for sept 30th. i wanted to do some fishing tomarrow/walk through the game lands i hunt up here at school..but the weather didnt look too promising so i opted to do some reading tomarrow. i dont REALLY need to walk through the area...i know it like the back of my hand..i have so many spots picked up here i dont know where to start...wait yes i do...the oak point coverd in oaks and grapes right along the edge of a thicket...yep..ill start there i do believe! but my opener i will be at home. the farmer is taking me to pick out a tree one of these weekends. i already got a great looking spot picked out there incase his tree doesnt pan out..ill probably hunt that in the evening of the first day actually. he got 2 fields split by a finger of trees. the woods have a valley the deer funnel out of and the deer follow the finger/farmer road out into the corn and hay fields. he got a NICE piece of the finger brushhogged. my buddy had his camera set up there and when i got there it had my name written all over it. itll probably be a long boring stand until right about dark...but if noone else is around and on the property that should be a GOOD stand come evening. mornings i cant sneak in there without getting busted if they are still in the fields. but he been seeing 8 diffrent bucks in the fields. some come from that side...some come from the side ill be at in the morning..one of the neighbors left for work and seen 3 shooters walking right toward the area my stand will be in last week. i cant wait..going to be ALOT of competition though..me and the farmer already know that..but hes got a spot picked out for me where ill hopefully have first dibs and noone in the area...i cant wait. going to buy my climber this weekend. i am dying....i cannot WAIT! its killing me. i shoulda brought the fishing rod just get out. i need to get out! lol...

on a side note.....a got a call from the sporting goods manager from work today(walmart) he got an opening with my name on it..he called to tell me that. about dang time...i was getting sick of the flowers(i work in lawn and garden now) and now halloween and xmas crap is taking over the department.....and i dont really care for the manager of lawn and garden. so now i think ill be moved to sporting goods. that department needs me. the bulk of it is hunting and fishing stuff...and only 2 guys that work there know anything about hunting and fishing!!! the manager doesnt even know about it!! that place needs me bad....hopefully i can do some good...

Well I've only been out one time. I saw a small buck and a spotted fawn. Almost got a shot at a couple turkeys but those keen eyes picked me out.

It's tough getting to my stands because of of all the high weeds and standing corn. The spot I hunt is off the beaten path so with all the thick growth it makes for a challenge.I've never been a fan of the September opener. It's just so green and thick. Oh... did I mention the tick infestation.

I cant wait for the first big frost.

Oct 1st for me, last year the 8 I shot walk 5 yds from me opening day. The farmer we rent to ask to plant wheat, we should sure, 7:30AM next morning(opening day) he is planting the field right next to me. I decide to hunt until noon that morning. He finshed about 10:00AM and at 10:30AM the buck came sneeking up the river bank. I was watching a squirrel, deer nose was about 2'' of the ground. I just got my bow back and my pin on the top of his back. He walk off, I got him 16 days later, I was not watchinga squirrel, LOL

I get to hunt THIS Saturday morning 9/9. As a few of you guys already know.....this will be my first full year bowhunting. I think I've done everything right, this year......so we'll see. We picked up 3 or 4 more tracts of land ......and we can hunt a different place, every time, if we wanted to. I'll go into my favorite little spot on Saturday morning.......then likely wont go back in there for a couple of weeks.

Wish me luck.

Jeff

Great guys, the seasons are sneaking in, good luck and have a great season. Hunt for yourself and if each of us tag out, there's a chance we'll take this thing...YES, everyone else read that right, you all can fight for second place.[8D]

I’m the last to enter into the reindeer games with an Oct 14th opener. Money is tight right now with the big purchase and everything that follows so I don’t believe I’ll be hunting in PA. I have a great new track of land to hunt that’s holding some really nice bucks. Lets go ten for ten guys, every inch counts!
