Sorry Rob I just got in from grilling Venison Backstraps, or I would have help you. It was a great dinner Venison Grilled and Marinated in Italian dressing. Fired Garlic Potato's and Spinach from my garden.
To top it off with fresh strawberries, and home made shortcake.
Man am I stuffed.
I went and looked for a bunch of deer & doe pictures. As soon as I saw this one I said "That's it"

i goto Slippery Rock University in PA....this is my second year. im a park and resource/park law major. i picked the school because my FAVORITE hunting area is about and hour and 15 minutes from home. from here its about 15 minutes!! figured i might as well pick somewhere i will atleast enjoy. we also are one of two 4yr schools that have a park ranger training program which is my goal. i just gota keep up on the books and ill be fine. i need a 3.0 to apply to get into the program, my first semester i was an engineering major and did horrible. last semester under my park and resource managment major i made deans list. when im not studying or at class you can find me fishing or hunting. i try my best to tweak my schedule every semester to give me good hunting and fishing time. works out pretty good. my spot isnt far away and straight highway driving so i use barely any gas(important to a college kid! lol)..i do go home pretty much every weekend..and im going to try working weekends this year..as well as hunting. when this semester is over ill be pretty run down..between school 4 days a week..work 3 days a week and hunting and LIFE in general ill be pretty beat....but ill have fun....cant wait to hit the woods. if this was a month from now id be sleeping by now because it will be bow season....and i dont have class till 6pm tomarrow!

i cant wait.....i miss my bow already!!!!

I guess if your in a dorm they dont allow weapons...I'm glad I finally got to move out.

ya i stayed in the dorms. i rather get my work and studying done and wake up at 4am(not pass out!) and hunt or fish...so i opted for a single dorm room. figured i can get my work done easy..goto bed when i want and get up for class or to hunt. i cant keep weapons in here....but the campus police holds my bow and guns for me locked up nice and safe..they do it for everyone..but im about the only one they see regularly. they know me by sight and know what case is mine. when i have more then 1 they have to ask! lol...my buddy has a house with a yard and a open field behind it. i could shoot there if i wanted..but ill be home thursday nights-monday afternoons....working fri-sun. partying is all good and fun...but i pay my own way...pay my own bills...and will pay back college as well...i see to many people failing and falling on their faces with noone to blame besides the bottle. i have a diffrent thinking. im here to get a degree...i still have fun....i got friends here..ill go have a good time with them once in a while but i wont let myself get caught up in that life style. i might seem like a loner and a loser because i rather live alone and go home every weekend...but i try to make it easy to get good grades and do what i gota do.
ill have my bow back in my hands thursday!....that is if dad doesnt jack it up! today i was packing while he was leaving for work..he said "leave your bow in your bedroom." i was like ok dad..its not hunting season yet im not taking it with me till then. hes like ok making sure..im gunna start practicing while your gone. i was shocked. he used to be a great archer and is a great hunter. he got out of archer about..12-15yrs ago. i want him to get back into it..he says he might. but the last month he never said he wanted to shoot or watch me shoot or anything. he dont know anything about using a release...how to nock an arrow with a shoot through rest etc....im just hoping he doesnt!! i will gladly teach him and let him....but i know if he picks it up and trys to shoot it with fingers like hes used to something badddddd will happen lol. we will see. he has an old Bear Bruin bow in the shed. when i upgrade my sights and rest and such im going to put it all on that bow. if he wont use that bow ill have a back up..all that bow needs is a string and itll be good to go....

Evening guys,
Was out on the backup property today checking out the oak and apple trees. They look really good so far. I caught a little 8 eatting some apples, was hilarious, he'd stand on his hind legs and walk around the tree picking apples. So far, from all the deer I have seen, none of them seem to be shooters. The 8 looks ok, If I take him, it won't be till December. I'm going to focus more on the farm in Central IL. Here's a few pics, the blurry one is the 8, He looks to be around 100ish. I forgot to adjust my focus though

Yesterday evening I went out to glass some fields at a farm I’ve only had permission to hunt since last year. To my surprise, the wonderful people from the gas company put in a fabulous food plot for me this summer! A nice thick lush bed of clover so full you’d think they spent a grand and two months working the soil! Now I’m no plant specialist so I don’t know what is what but they planted a different blend than the milk farmer. His clover has smaller pedals about the size of a dime and oval shaped on a stiffer stalk, and the Gas Co. clover pedals are about the size of a half dollar like the kind you find in most food plot blends. You’d think the deer would be devouring the new pipeline plot but the majority was on the farmers freshly cut clover field. Also the deer that were on the pipeline seemed to be hitting it only on there way to the bigger fields. I thought that was strange. I snapped a picture of the new pipeline with my camera phonefrom a hedgerow on the northwest end of it. The corn fields are to my back and right.
