Hey Guys,
It sounds like everyone is enjoying the Xmas and New Year celebrations. Tonight is my last night of vacation, its been a nice long 2 week break. (guess teaching does have some perks)
Tim, thanks bud, I am hoping the three guys we have left can pull out a miracle finish like the Boise State Broncos did yesterday. Fat lady is warming up but she hasn't bellered yet...
Dave, good luck arrowing another bruiser!
Quick, yeah buddy, what a game eh???? !!!!! I was jumping up and down doing the happy dance across the front room! I am sure there was a lot of high fives going on....across the state of Idaho. I called my buddy Jeff Choate about 30 minutes after the game. Jeff coaches the special teams and running backs for BSU, (he was on the tube quite a bit last night.) Anyway I caught him on the bus ride back tothe teamsmotel. The players in the background were just pumped, I could hearall the excitementin thier voices as they talkedabout the game. I could barely hear Jeff, anyway he was of course just pumped and told me the game was just unreal and that he'd better quit now, cause this one was gonna be hard one to beat!
Yeah guys I'd like to see the our hunting contest adminsspice up this contest by letting past championship teams have the choice to stay together.

I have two months of basketball to coach starting tomorrow... Fun fun... lol
I have weekends to myself so I'll get out shed hunting starting next weekend. Should be some fresh bones hitting the ground.
IL, Hoosier and Darren...wishing you guysthe best of luck huntingthis month!

Happy New Year XX !! - Hope all is well with everyone - had a great holiday - spent some time with family which was quite nice!
Troy - glad you had a good break, sounds like a welcomed and needed one.
Fran- gotta love gifts like those!! - I would think a flash pan going off that close to your face could cause a flinch!
Ryan - I think I may have caught some clips from that CD- did it include Elk or was it just deer?
I agree with all - would love to see the past winning teams be allowed to stay together if they wanted to. - And actually - with the discussions etc. on the lack of participation and wanting to possibly "Qualify" entrants - that thought may not be a bad idea!
Just let me know what I need to do - could contact Senators and Congressmen if that would help - or maybe we should skip those wanna-be's and go straight to the top - and check with Rob.
Well Guys - better get back to work - will try to stay in touch better! - Take care and hope you three still out there can put some more inches on the ground!
Mike

Just wanted to check in with you guys. I just finished up all of the hunts in Iowa. Troy it looks awesome for next year. We just signed up new ground that the governors hunt was held on. We didn't harvest that monster that I told you about either so He'll be even bigger next year. I had awesome stats in Iowa I actually set a new all time high oppurtunity rate in the history of the business. I get to go new mexico this weekend for a cougar. Happy New Year.

Hope everyone is doing fine...We have our first bite on our house working right now. Hopefully it goes thru. I am really tired of working two hours away from my family - We are all ready to make the permanent move.

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. My dad called and twisted my arm to go bowhunting tonight. I really didn't want to go, but went anyway. I was in the stand at 3:45 and saw a small buck feeding towards me. He never came into range, but a small doe that was with him did. I shot her at about 4:15 this evening, she ran about 30 yards and piled up. Had her in the truck before 5pm lol. No pics, she's already at the meat locker. I still have 2 tags left, but archery season ends on Thursday and I'm not sure if I'll get to go again. Good luck to anyone that is still out there.

Whatsup fellas. Talked to a good buddy of mine last night, and he took a whiff on a real nice buck with the flintlock on Saturday evening. I feel bad b/c the guy has probably passed up 20 legal bucks all year - holding out for something nice, and every chance he has on a big one, something goes haywire. This time, his gun delay-fired, and there's no way you can hold true through that. It was a tough shot anyway, probably 75-85 yards through the brush open sighted with the flintgun.
Congrats on the doe Dave. This fall, you'll be happy that young buck didn't come in.

Hows it going teammates?
Pat, man that sounds like great season. wheweee... I hope I draw!
Mike I hear you ..got your pm.. busy here too. Coaching keeps me in town till about 7-8 eachnight, get home in time to put the boys to bed and get some sleep and get back up at 5 and do it all over again. Say hi to the boys, J and G for me.. Best of luck to you guys with the baby to come! I know its been keeping you guys very busy.
Dave, congrats on a very nice season!
Sum, man I wish you guys the best and fast turn-around on the place. I am sure you miss your family working so far away. It will be nice when you guys can make the move. Best of luck.
Quick, you watching the BCS tonight? whats your prediction? OHIO ST. by 10.. here..
Got out a little bit this weekend, rained, snowed, blew like a buggar again. I have never seen wind like we have got this year. I didnt find a thing in the snow. They are starting to drop, a few guys here have picked up a fresh bone or two. I am looking forward to next weekend. Suppose to melt all the snow off today and tomorrow and then get really cold... Hoping for no snow for the weekend for shed hunting.
Take care guys!

Troy, I say Florida shocks the world and wins by 3. OSU hasn't played a football game in a LONG TIME.
Boise, Idaho will be celebrating their first (disputed) national championship tonight. I'm pulling for 'em.
I'd normally root for Ohio State, but I think that if UF wins, it will really drive home the need for a playoff system of some kind. So, I guess in light of that, I'm trading in my Big Ten allegiance for the most complicated and absurd BCS result and rooting for the Gators. If the Gators come away from tonight as national champs, it will really get the chatter started among the NCAA football gurus.
Mike - I forgot about the VHS until yesterday - found a box at work today- should be in tomorrow's mail. Wednesday at the latest.
Pat - I'm guessing you guide for whitetail? Are you revved up for the spring birds yet, or still coming down from deer season? I didn't think I was all that amped for spring gobblers until this weekend - I saw a flock along the road and that got the juices flowin'.
Weird weather these days. Global warming, el nino, something...
Those sheds will be falling. I have to make time to get out there. I've gotta top last year's record-setting standard (six sheds) LOL
Rybo - I'll call you one of these days in the coming weeksand we'll plan a shed hunting adventure somewhere. I've been a bit of a hermit lately - bar exam coming around again, and I've been pounding it pretty hard.
