Mike a J congrats on those nice bucks. Glad to see a few inches on the board.
Well I did not get a buck. I hunted hard everyday but no luck. The weather was not very good and just no good bucks in range. I did kill a doe friday and had 3 bucks come in after I shot her but they were all to young. I still have some time but the deer will go nocturnal for a while with all the gun hunters out. I am going back out in the morning to try again. I won't give up until it is over. I was going to post every day but just did not have the time.
I think we still have a great shot at winning this thing if I can pull through for the team. It is going to be tough hunting around here, even the gunners are having a slow year. I was at the check in station and thier were not to many big ones checked in and it was slow for small ones and does as well. I will keep at it and try to put some bone down. Good luck to all and be safe.

Man we were hoping you'd have something to post up. No pressure, but I REALLY hope you drill a good one.
Congrats on the doe, you are giving it a heck of an effort this year. Best of luck to you.
And another good note, I got that permission on that property I was excited about a while back. I'll probably only hunt it this season to scout for next. It's a great spring turkey area so I can scout then too. There is one other fellow who's been hunting it for a while now, but its a big enough space. And its literally a half mile from my house.

Mike - Big congrats on that great buck buddy! Looks like you and J had a whale of a weekend! I couldn't be happier for ya man. That is a beautiful buck. Long beams on that guy.
William - Way to get after 'em bro. I have a feeling that you'll be able to put us over the top this year. But like Ryan said - no pressure. LOL
I'm sorry I was so scarce over the weekend - lot going on. I was online a few times, but no time to post.
I went bear hunting yesterday, and it was nice to get out, but no luck. I am completely confused - the area that I hunted usually has 10-20 bear killed on opening day every year. Now, this is the first year that I remember having snow on the ground, which I though would have led to a new record kill in the area. Just like usual, there were a lot of guys in there, but either the bears aren't there anymore, or they were denned up.
I started at one end, worked back and forth across the gamelands criss-crossing the entire area a couple times, swimming through clearcuts, climbing through boulders, climbing steep hillsides and crawling through laurel thickets. At the end of the day, the GPS read 13.5 miles traveled, and I never cut one single bear track. I heard 7 shots all day, and heard of one bear being killed.
By comparison, last year, I'd heard 7 shots by 7:00. Man am I sore today. My clothes/daypack just kept getting heavier and heavier from crawling around in the wet snow, and when I finally got back to the car at dark, I was totally defeated.

Didn't think I was going to get home in time to hunt last night. But did with 45 minutes of daylight left, I dressed quickly and grabbed my bow.. I headed up behind my neighbors and sat in a ground blind..wind moving in my face downhill. I used the can call grunted for about 15 minutes on and off like a buck chasing does.
It wasnt 10 minutes and I hear grunting coming down the timberd draw next to me..I could tell he was circling downwind. I got inposition with the skid trail behind me....the direction the wind was traveling. It started gettin dark and he stepped out in the trail about 50 yards below me. He just stood their stone still. Staring my way. I grunted...he didnt move...I then snort wheezed and he moved a few steps my way. I couldnt make out what he had for headgear exactly..He looked to be a younger buck...bout 2.5 year old... It got dark on both of us...and then I he moved on... I'll be after it hard the next 7 days..starting this evening..
Good luck to everyone left..keep after it.

Keep after those bucks Troy, it will all come together for you soon. Its the chase that makes the hunting fun. Good luck to you.
William, sounds like you are putting in the time, hang in there....a good buck will come by soon.
Best of luck to all of you still bowhunting. I am going in the morning again, still have a buck tag left and its buring a hole in my pocket.

Well I went out this morning and no luck did not see one deer. The gunners have them all scared and hiding. I will keep at it until I kill one or the season is over.
Mike what did the buck score? He sure is a nice one congrats once again.
Good luck to all and be safe.

Hoosier and Troy - good luck guys - it sounds like both of you are really gettin' after it. The longer it goes, the better it feels when you finally have hair on the ground.
Anthony - don't get frustrated, maybe just rethink where you've beensitting, and use those trail cameras to figure out where/when the deer are moving. Let your cameras do the hard work, then slip in and try to close the deal.
Dave's also out today I think - gunning for that big buck - hope he pops on tonight with some good news.
Mike - any score yet?
AR & Sum- do you fellas have any tags left? Been out at all?
Darren - haven't heard from you in a while either- we're sending out a search team in three days.
Ryan - let me know when you're heading to G.C. - I might be able to go - still not sure. Schedule is hectic between now and Sunday, but I have a few holes.

I just got in this morning from the stand. I saw a doe and 2 fawns at first light, and then saw the 120 class buck that I let walk earlier this season. I was going to let him have it if he came in....he stayed about 50 yards from me in the draw north of me. I'd love to get another crack at him, but I am almost hoping he makes it to next year now. Our shotgun season comes back in on Nov 30 and runs through Dec 3. After that, its a 3 day muzzleloader season, and back to bow to mid Jan. The bow hunters around here pretty much quit after the first shotgun season, so he has a great chance at making it till next year....unless he walks by my stand again.[8D]

Hi Guys - sorry was tied up all day yesterday.
Did a rough and quickie score at 152 (was not measuring it to the 1/8ths - again a rough and quickie) - J thinks it should be fairly close +/- a couple inches. He measured and I punched numbers in the phone.
William, Troy, Anthony & Darrin - best of luck guys we still have a lot of time to put some bucks on the ground!
Better run - will check back in this afternoon!
