This is the only pic I have so far. It was from this morning in our 100 mile trip to show everyone I know. It is from a cell phone at my work. I will make sure I get pictures to do it justice. I think I am off to Cabelas in the morning to have him officialy scored.
Thanks all of you for your continues support.
I think I have one pic. of this guy pre season, but have not seen him in life untill today. Bow kill baby!!! everyone should shoot an AR.....LOL
I did not tell all of you that I almost got this kill on video too. Walked off the screen about 10 yards/ 30 sec. before the kill.

Wow AR - that buck is beautiful. Honestly - he looks like a carbon copy of Mr. October, but Mr. O's tips don't curl up like that, and his G4's were a little smaller. I bet that buck scores higher than your initial estimates - he'll even net out really well since his sides appear to match perfectly. What a buck! Man, I bet you were happier than a pig in mud.

I went out this morning again before work - my time is chipping away because it's not even getting daylight until after 6:30, which gives me just an hour-and-a-half each morning. Oh well, off the next two days. I saw a hog of a buck today, running a doe down in this saddle that I will be hunting tomorrow. Not sure what or how big, but he dwarfed the doe, and I caught a glimpse of rack through the brush. He's big. Could have been Mr. O, who knows? Now that the leaves are off, it's extra frustrating, because you can see the deer, but can't get them into range. I had a huge gobbler come into range, but he was just over the bank and never presented a shot. My morning was effectively ended when two stray cats came through, and got into a huge fight right behind me. I wanted to make Cat-Ka-Bob's out of either of them. They made a holy ruckus between 7:30 and 8:00 when I finally got down and slipped out.

Thanks guys! All I can say is he is beautifull! When anyone looks at this animal, they dont even see it as being dead, just beautifull.

I went out Wed. after a wet morning hunt on Tues to sit in the same stand, I was in the stand about 15 minutes after first shooting light, It was a foggy calm cool morning and just the condensation from the bare branches of the trees were making noise in the woods. Then all of a sudden crashing, getting louder, closer, and before I could even get my bow in my hand there goes a doe in a semi circle around my stand at 30 yards, just seconds behind came a small racked deer hot on the trail at about 20 mph. No way no chance, just tails bobing accross the tall weeds to the fence line and away out of sight. I hit the grunt, and then the bleat, and back to the grunt. Crap, crash, I hit the video camera on and here comes another buck from in front of me, this boy was on the move too. I gave out a mouth grunt and he stopped long enough to catch he was an eight or better and straight to the doe trail and out of the corner of the woods where she entered, I know he was disapointed when he found he was going the wrong way!!! Only 20 min. later I have another buck comming from the field behind me, trying to get this one on video, I aim the camera in his direction and hook my release to the bow, of corse bumping the camera at the same time, this one is on the move too???? now he is at 20 yards and I am unhooked from the bow and moving the camera back on him. Thinking this is going to be great!! On video!!! NOPE.. he busts me hooking back on to my string. Head bob and a tail flick and off he goes, hits the doe trail andgone. Screaming mad, I shove the camera around the tree and turned it off after getting a few choice words to it. It could not have been another 20 min. and here comes another buck, this one is taking his time, came in on the doe exit trail, crossing it several times and just seems to be wandering in my direction, one more chance with the video.I give a grunt, and he stops at the woods corner and flashes a profile of his head gear, four long tines at 50 yrds, with out glasses, thats all I needed to know, thinking "man thoes are long". He walks in to 30 yrds and I am prepaired this time for him to follow the doe trail out around me, I get an obstruced view and draw "stumbling some, not smooth at all" and set the 30 pin on him, he walks off the video about now, and comes in to 20, not on the doe trail, still with the 30 pin, man I almost screwed up, I caught myself and move to the 20 pin and let it rip, He was at about 15 yrds, hit just the top of his sholder and did not pass through, just the tip of the broad head was sticking through the other side, he ran about 80 yrds and gave in.

No sents, nobait, no special calls, just the right place at the right time. I think this hunt had everything to do with the hot doe that blessed my hunting stand that morning.

MR. big is at the taxidermist as of today, I asked him to score it and suggested that I takeit to a Pope and Youngscorer.I went out and bought a Canon so I can get you guys the pics. I found a nice place next to a river. I know it was not his place, but I hope the pics. do him some justice. I will post them later, dang network admin. locks everthing out.
Good luck guys, bring us some bucks!!!

Mark your buck is a stud. He'll gross in the 150's from the looks of that photo. He's long..in the tines and mains...dandy! I can't wait to see your taxidermy photos of him down the road.

As for my hunting this week, its been pretty slow. I was out last evening..feeling like the weather and set up was going to be very productive. Nothing came by at all. I did a little grunting was about it near the big boys bedding area. I thought about rattling but noticed a pickup down below and didnt want to invite a gun hunter up to my set up near the big fellas bedding area. So I kept quiet other than the grunting. I will be hard after it this weekend. All day sits from here on out. I put upa lot off firewood this week in the dark so I could have the weekend off. Next week I have a 3 day weekend and then over Thanksgiving 5 days off..

I am wishing everyone luck this week! I can't wait to get out tomorrow.

Mark - thanks for sharing the story - sounds like a great hunt - Just have to love it when a willing participant lays down a nice hot trail by the stand!

Can't wait to see the pictures - and definately - when the circumstances dictate that you cant get the pic's you want at the that sight - pick the best backdrop you can to do justice to a beautiful animal! - cant wait to see the pics.

I ended up staying up here working today (was a horribly windy/rainy/crappy day) - but had too much work to get done - will be taking Tuesday off - so hopefully the shift will be fine.

Fran - good luck as the last couple day of regular season wind down. Hope you end up with another shot at Mr. O!

Troy - best of luck this weekend! - Yeller, Greyand Stretch -should all be shaking in their hooves!

William - I think you are going to be out this weekend also - best of luck.

Anthony - hope the weather and equipment give you a little break and you can make it out.

Darren - good luck on another one like the other one!

Crap guys - just looked out the window and the snow is comming down - chit - need to be in the stand!
