when to plant fall foodplot, and what to plant?
Alright the Deer seem to be hitting the Lab Lab, and Buckwheat pretty haevy as of right now. Like You guys said though it will be done after the frost. So I am wondering what should I plant for the fall. I want something that will attract them in really good, and last through the fall clear through winter if possible. Name some stuff You guys have had good expierence with. Also when should I disk up the plots in southern Ohio to do the fall plots? Thanks for any tips, and help!

RE: when to plant fall foodplot, and what to plant?
My property is in S. Ohio and I will begin discing up my fall plot towards the end of July, 1st of August. My planting will include a mix of brassicas, wheat, oats and annual clovers. In my situation, I have two areas for food plots, both around 1 acre in size, maybe a little less. I have a pernennial plot established and I will have my annual hunting plot done by mid August.

I plant buck forage oats in the fall mixed with some type of brassicas and red clover. Buck forage oats are extremely hardy plant. If i didnt use the oats i would plant winter rye, deer seem to like it better than winter wheat here in arkansas. have a good one
