Default Biologic deer mineral supplements....

Iwent tothe local feed store yesterday to priceout theDicalcium phospate, trace minerals and stock salt for a homemade mineral lick and found out that the ingredients would cost nearly $45 (which is more than I really want to spend on it right now). While I was there Ilooked ata bag of the new Biologic Whitetail Addiction Mineral Supplements. Its pretty cheap at $7.99 for a 6 lb. bag and it's supposed to be mixed with 6 gallons of water.Has anyone triedthis stuff? I'm not sure if I should give it a try or if I should just buy the other minerals in a smaller quantity than 50# bags. I know its getting kinda late...but better late than never I suppose.

I have used Vita Rack 26 for two years now and the deer have dug a huge hole in the ground where I have placed it. I just pour the powder on the ground, it rains enough here in the southern tier that the powder gets absorbed. I replenish the spot once a month all year round, and in the fall I use the apple scented Vita Rack. I have a camera on the spot and get some great pics

Go with the 150 to 200 lbs of home made mix for about $0.25/lb. If it cost too much, have 1 to 4 friends split the cost and mineral with you. To your homemade mix you can also add powdered lime (one with a higher Mg content), and also maybe some red jello for sweet flavoring.

At $1.33/lb you are paying for someone's hunting trips at biologic.
