Thought I would give my 2 cents here. Sound to be like both sides of this were out of line and emotional. I don't think I would recomend going to the priciple or try to get the guy fired. Instead, I'd appologise for the way YOU handled your disagreement and would like to discuss it out of class. There, I would give him information on the mule deer population decrease, and acknowledge you were incorrect about the "increase in population" - However they are FAR from being endangered.

Do not raise your voice, do not taunt, regardless of his reactions.

Ok, now that I've gotten your attention LHF, I'm going to tell you to do something that will really "P" you off.

If you are really concerned for your grade, apologize to him. Swallow your pride for this one and just do it. Man your grades are more important than that poster. Get your education now, fight your battles later.

What's bull is this macho attitude that everyone seems to be adopting lately of not being accountable. (Must come from WWF).

Leave the Principal out of this and work it out between you two.

cyclone you have probably come up with the best yet toughest course of action. There is nothing more important than an education. LittleHuntingFool do as cyclone has said, one of the hardest things to learn in life is to choose your battles carefully, some are not worth fighting at all, others should be fought at a later date. One of the hardest things to learn is to think before we speak, I still do it every once in awhile and it has bitten me a few times.

Some great advice here on the these postings. I have to agree that you may have pushed too hard on the opening and NEVER name call. Name calling is what people do when there is nothing left in the fact pile.

May I suggest doing some extra credit reporting. If he dosen't learn from it, you still do, and thus the winner anyway. Also, try (you do have to agree) but try to understand what is fueling his beliefs. Why does he feel this way? Is he a true "anti" or someone concerned for the right reasons but wrong information? If he's a professional, he'll return the respect and you won't have to worry about being cheated on the grades. Good luck and keep us updated.

I talked to him today, took cyclones advice and everything is cool now! I told him that I was wrong and that poster may have been true when it was made (yeah right) and he said everything is cool and for me to keep up the good work (i got an A in that class) so everything is fine!! thanks eveyone who posted, especially cyclone. Your advice really helped!

LittleHuntinFool You have made a huge step towards manhood, one of the hardest things to do for a young man and a lot of older ones is to swallow thier pride. I am not saying you should swallow it every time, you shouldn't, but as I said pick and choose your battles. You have gained my respect and a lot of others on the board, and your teachers also.

dittos to Tazman's first post. Ask him to show you evidence that HUNTING, rather than habitat, is the reason for the decline. Ask him to explain how mule deer can decline due to hunting, but there are more whitetails than ever before, despite MULTIPLES more whitetail hunters than mulie hunters.
