#1 rifle- 280 yard shot on a buck running all out shooting offhand. I thought i hit him on shot #1 and didnt want him to go too far so i shot again and dropped him in his tracks.. bullet struck a little far back, on the front of the hind quarters and high, nicking the spine and several major arteries. 20-25 MPH crosswind blowing snow flurries, 25 degrees. Remington 700 mountain, Leupold Vari X II 3-9X, .270 Win, 130 gr. hornady interbonds. #2 rifle- 275 yards on a crow in a corn field. 10 MPH winds, snow flurries. one shot, Remington 700 BDL Varmint, .22-250 rem, 55 grain winchester soft points. Leupold vari x III 4.5-14X scope. Harris bipod. shotgun- 65 yards running shot on my biggest buck to date, he was running around the hill on a logging road with some does coming out of a drive. I failed in my attempts to stop him, so i shot, and hit him in the hind quarters, breaking the pelvis and severing many blood vessels. he went 20 yards, i shot him once more in the back, then put one more in his lungs as he expired in the creek. Remington 870 express magnum 12 gauge, 20" fully rifled, cantilevred slug barrel with Leupold vari x II 1-4X shotgun scope. Remington 1 oz copper solids. 5 MPH wind. 140 class 9 point, around 230 pounds dressed. oh, shot a running fox at 250 with my .270 once. that was a good shot.

Oh, another good shot was at a buzzard sitting in a dead tree at 276 yards with my 22 hornet out of a jeep. The load is 40 gr sierra varmiter hp flat back with 13 gr Hogdon Lil' Gun. The gun is a Ruger 77 with an 18" barrel. That was a pretty good shot as well. I had to allow for quite a bit of drop with the hornet at that range.

Never really made any far shots over the years, but i saw my unkle take a 1200 pound moose running wide open at 275 yards with on shoot with a remington 7400 chambered in 308 win. The moose never took a step when he pulled the triger, the bullet took out the moose's heart
