Nice story Jimmy.

I wish I could have participated in a hunt with my father for even one day. He died in 1998 and I started in 2001.

Great story! Makes you wonder why some people still don't understand that killing something isn't the most important part of the hunt.

Excellent story Jimmy. A real eye opener truthfully. That's one of the main reasons I hunt to this day. It's not with my dad but with my step dad but it's still awesome going out there and learning things and spending time with him. Thanks for sharing your story.

Jimmy great tribute to your dad. He would definitely be proud of you and your family. Your story I'm sure caused alot of us to reflect on our own family relationships. I spend a week every year fishing with my dad and his friends. I prefer hunting but the fishing is secondary to time spent with my dad. Noone is guaranteed a tomorrow and when you think about it money, careers, and all the trappings of everyday life don't really mean a whole lot. It's about family and getting the most out of the time we have on this earth. Thanks for your story. Gary

Jimmy, That was a very heartfelt and eye opening story. well I couldn't keep my eyes open cuse the tears wouldn't let me.. I never got to hunt with my dad,he passed away when I was little, but my older brother was the one who tought me the wounderful world of hunting.... Iam sure that every time you go into the deer woods your father is right there with you, just as proud now, as he was on your first hunt.. Thank you for the story.
